This is just a short one shot on what happened with zax after the blank screen on Saturday's casualty episode so please R and R :)
Zoe sat outside the ED smoking her cigarette, it had been a hard day and the ED was only starting to clear and the worst thing of all was the grief that Connie and max were giving her.
Max had refused Zoe's offer of breakfast, Zoe couldn't help but feel hurt as for once max was angry with her, but could it have been anything to do with the conversation he had just had about bosses with that elderly man's career?
Zoe was brought out of her thoughts when max grabbed the cigarette.
"Hey" said Zoe as max stood beside her
"You owe me" said max seriously
"And why would that be?" said Zoe smiling
"Because you're my boss and as someone very kindly pointed out to me, it's the bosses that never get hurt" said max
"What are you on about?" said Zoe shaking her head and looking at max
"No matter what happens in the ED it's always the staff that get blamed, never you" said max angrily
"Thanks for all the support" said Zoe crossing her arms and leaning back against the wall of the hospital
"Well I am only saying" said max smoking the cigarette he had stolen off Zoe
"So I am such a bad clinical lead and I do so wrong by you but yet you still crawl back into my bed" shouted Zoe
"Well maybe I won't" said max
"Fine" said Zoe
"Fine" said max
"Fine" repeated Zoe
"Fine" repeated max
After a minutes science max and Zoe both turned around smiling at each other.
"Breakfast?" said Zoe
"Ok, but we are still fighting, right?" said Max
"totally" said zoe smiling and walking off with max not noticing that Charlie had been watching the whole time and realized why zoe had been so distant from her job.
