Azami washed up on the beaches of Destiny Islands shortly after the trio of Sora, Riku, and Kairi found the letter from Disney Castle with a terrible curse: One eye, known by legend as the Eye of Darkness, made up of entire blackness, and the other, a shadowy haze of blind white—a scar running through it—and newly known to legend as the Eye of Light. Only wanting to have a Keyblade as a weapon, she works with a chain as she is kidnapped by a girl with black hair named Xion, who tells Azami that she is a fragment of Sora's heart that's been slowly chipped off—alike to her, Xion, herself. Curious, Xion and Azami begin their quest to try and find their own hearts out there in the world—they are real people, aren't they? Finding several misadventures along the way, it all comes down to it: A battle, caused by them, in the Badlands, in which each of them reach fatality. Only when Azami dies, is she able to summon her Keyblade.
