"Hey, Greg?"

"Yeah, Sar?"

"If…If I told you I needed to leave, what would you do?" I turn to face her. The lights of Las Vegas cast a soft glow on her face, and from her balcony, we can see the whole city. She avoids my gaze and continues to look out at into the night.

"Your leaving?" She looks back at me, finally meeting my eyes.

"I said if I told you I was leaving. Just hypothetically. What would you do if I told you that?" I think the question over as a symphony of sirens, horns, and shouting is heard from below.

"I'd ask you where you were going." I stare out at the city that's been her home for the past five years. She wouldn't really leave. Would she?

"And if I told you I didn't know, what would you say?"

"I'd ask you why you were leaving."

"And if I told you I didn't know, what would you say?"

"I'd say you were lying." She sighs and runs her fingers through her curly hair. She seems to pent up, so angry, so sad.

"If I told you I was leaving because I couldn't do it anymore, what would you say?"

"I'd ask what you couldn't do anymore."

"This!" She waves her hands around in frustration, exasperated. "I can't pretend I'm okay when everyone around her knows I'm not! I explode at my supervisors and lose it over abuse cases! Not to mention the fact that I don't know how to tell the guy I love how I feel! I'm a walking disaster, Greg, and leaving is the only way out!" She turns to stare at me, and I keep my face empty of expression, trying to hide the confusion and hurt I feel.

"Is this still a hypothetical question?" She smiles a little. "Seriously. Just asking."

"No. I guess not." She sighs. "I need to leave."

"Where are you going?"

"I don't know."

"Why are you leaving?"

"I don't know."

"Your lying." She can't help but smile, and my world lights up as she reveals the gap between her teeth.

"I'mm leaving because I'm in love with a guy. And he's incredibly funny, and he's smart, and charming, and crazy, and he always knows what to say to me. He doesn't know, and I have no clue how to tell him. So leaving's easier." My heart sinks to my stomach.

"Your in love with Nick?" She looks confused and shakes her head.

"Warrick?" She smiles a little. What, does she find my heartbreak funny?

"Grissom?" She shakes her head, grinning now. I rack my brain for another suspect.

"Brass? Gross, Sara!" She can't help but laugh, and I find myself completely confused.

"No, Greg. I'm in love with you." I blink. Did she just say that? "What would you say if I told you that?"

"I'd kiss you. What would you do if I kissed you?"

"I'd kiss you back."

"WHat would you do if I told you I didn't want you to leave?"

"I wouldn't."

"What would you say if I got down on one knee and asked you to marry me?" I say, getting on my right knee. She widens her eyes.

"I'd say yes."

"Sara Sidle, will you marry me?"

"Yes, yes, yes!" I get back up and kiss her, holding her tightly. When we break apart, I whisper in her ear,

"I love you, Sara."

"I love you too, Greg."
