Midnight: I wrote this years ago for my little brother, Joshua. And just recently I was going through some old files on a disc and I found it again.

Shippo,
The Easter Fox
By Amanda Bowers
Shippo sat in a corner of the hut, thinking about the story Kagome had just told him. The story about Easter. She had loved that holiday, missing the chocolate and animals she would get in a basket. Sango seemed to enjoy the story as well, her brown eyes glowing with interest in the light from the fire. Everyone had been interested, not just her. Even Inuyasha didn't complain, but commented on how fun that holiday would be. It would be fun to search for eggs, and eat the chocolate.
Suddenly, Shippo's green eyes lit up. He had the perfect idea. Sneaking into Kagome's bag, being careful about his tail getting caught on anything, he brought out the eggs that Kagome had helped him dye earlier, saying that this part of the tradition was fun, and wanted to share it with him. Then he grabbed her chocolate stash, freezing when she turned over in her sleep, and snuck away. His emerald eyes shining with glee at his idea.
When everyone woke up that morning, the first thing they saw right by their sleeping area was a basket of their favorite color. Sango's was pink, having bright pink ribbons, and a stuffed toy that looked like Kirara. Her brown eyes lit up as she spied the chocolate and a few eggs. Kagome opened her blue-gray eyes and saw a green basket with green ribbons. It contained a stuffed animal, a dog to be exact, with chocolates and a few eggs. Miroku came out of his doze and saw a purple basket. His violet eyes widened in delight when he saw a plush toy that resembled a statue of the Buddha. Ignoring the ribbons and chocolate, he grabbed the toy and stared at it in wonder. The moment Inuyasha's amber eyes opened, he saw a bright red basket, with a toy that looked like Kagome, and chocolates, eggs, and ribbons to match. The Easter Bunny decided to visit Kirara as well. Getting a yellow basket, with the eggs, ribbons, sugar free chocolate, and a yarn ball.
Everyone looked at each other in confusion. That stopped when Shippo stepped into the hut, wearing what looked like fox ears, and was smiling widely.
"What are you all doing! You still have an egg hunt to go on!"Everyone's faces broke out in grins and they all ran out of the hut and into a nearby field to search for eggs. After awhile Kagome stopped searching and knelt by Shippo.
"This was a wonderful idea Shippo. Thanks for coming up with it!"She smiled brighter.
"I just thought everyone deserved a break."he replied modestly.
"Thanks anyway." She would of continued, but the sight of Inuyasha chasing Miroku for an egg that Miroku had supposedly taken out of his basket had everyone laughing. She patted Shippo on the shoulder and walked off to search for a while longer.
As she walked away, Shippo thought to himself.
'Maybe I should play Easter Fox more often! Everyone seems so happy!' With that decision made, he continued to watch everyone smiling, laughing, and being happy together, glad he had done the right thing.
