Absent
Tom sat looking across the cold room at Alex Riders seat. Vacant again he was having his tonsils removed, or at least thats what they said but Tom knew it wasn't true. He sat in math completely ignoring the teacher who was trying as hard as he could to make everybody listen but it was never going to work, they were teenagers and all teenagers hated listening and going to school, accept Alex. Alex was always happy to be there he always listened and did his work, maybe it was because he didn't get to go to school very often so when he did he appreciated it.
RING RING RING
Everyone jumped up and ran out of the class eager to get home, Tom was too deep in thought to notice everybody leaving and the screaming and yelling
"Tom, TOM!" James yelled snapping tom back to attention "You coming?" he asked
"Yeah, yeah just let me get my things" he mumbled quickly shoving his schoolwork into his backpack

"So, where is Alex?" James asked avoiding the group of girls giving him dirty looks for breaking up with their friend.
"Oh, he is getting his tonsils out" Tom mumbled hating knowing that he was lying
"So when is he going to get back?" James questioned
"I don't know, stop asking me everything I'm not God, I don't know whats going on in everybodys life" Tom snapped
"Someones being a chick" james said under his breath

Tom hated lying especially to his friends, but dosn't everybody? I guess he was kinda being a chick but James didn't have to keep asking so many questions. He hated it when Alex was gone, it throws everything out of wack. All he wanted, all most people wanted was Alex to come back to school and everything to go back to normal.
So this is basically just a one-shot story on school when Alex is away on one of his missions. I just decided that I wanted to upload something else, and I haven't seen anything like this before. I am not abandoning "words never die" like I said I just wanted to upload something and chapter 3 is not finished yet. please review.(: Thanks!
