Well this is it….my first story atempt in over a year. Hopefully I can get my muse back and start writing again, I miss it….it kept me sane and right now I can use all the sanity I can get. So please read and review. Thank you :)
Sodas POV
I sat at the counter in the DX staring at my ring. I have been married to Sandy for a few months now but it still seemed like she was in another place half the time. I thought being married would make the bond between us stronger and it was what she had wanted but now I wasn't so sure. How am I supposed to be expected to make my marriage work and spend the rest of my life with someone if not even a year after the wedding I'm having second thoughts?
I was pulled out of my thoughts when the bell rang signaling someone was coming in the door. I looked up to see a thin girl with long dark hair walking up to the counter. She didn't seem like any of the greaser girls around here even though she was dressed like it, She smiled sure but not like the ones that just came in to flirt.
"Can I help you?" I asked brushing a piece of shaggy brown hair out of my face
"I'm here about a job…my dad said the owner was looking for another mechanic and my dad put in a good word for me, I'm Rayanne Harris." She said putting her application on the counter and extending her hand.
"oh yeah, he said you''d be coming by today, but he called you Ray…I was just expecting a guy."
"Is there a problem with me being a girl?"
"No, not at all that's not what I meant…I was just expecting someone not so cute to walk in." I said smiling a little. She was cute, not like a knockout or anything but she was really cute. She smiled and that made her even cuter than she was before. At least she wasn't offended when I said I was expecting a guy.
"Yeah my dad has a bad habbit of calling me Ray…I hate it, I do sound like guy then. But I am me, all girl and all ready to work…if you'll hire me that is."
"Well if your dads a friend of my boss and he recommended you I don't see why I wouldn't." I smiled looking over her application
"I just have to get you a work shirt and a name tag and you can start whenever your ready." She smiled again, she had a pretty smile
"Thank you, I can start anytime, I'm not too picky." I Nodded and led her to the back to find one of my old shirts that was too small and introduced her to Steve and showed her around a bit
"I hope you like it here…theres enough work to keep us busy but a lot of girls tend to come in and just hang out…" I found myself trailing off, unable to finish my sentence. I didn't even know this girl and she was leaving me at a loss for words. She was cute, From what her application stated she's smart, She wasn't afraid to get under the hood of a car and work herself…Had I really made a mistake by marrying Sandy before exploreing other options? I guess we'll find out…in time
Well that's it, My first start of a story in about a year at least. Review, tell me what you think, remember this is just the first chapter, who knows whats gonna happen later on )
