Short little ficlet that wouldn't leave me alone. Watching Thor2 I couldn't help but wonder what our favorite S.H.I.E.L.D team's reaction would be. Contains major spoilers for Thor 2!

She was part of a team that saved people. To borrow from Tony Stark occasionally saved the world. Yet when her home country needed her Jemma Simmons was thousands of miles away; stuck. She'd never felt more helpless The team's plane affectionately known as the Bus had been grounded in Seattle once the fluctuations in time and space had started. Too dangerous to fly S.H.I.E.L.D had stated. Everything that had been in the air was ordered down. When the incident in London had started Jemma had watched with her team in the Bus's conference room. S.H.I.E.L.D being S.H.I.E.L.D they had cameras everywhere. She stood with her friends watching a live feed of a space ship land in the Thames and move through Greenwich. Destroying whatever was in it's path.

After thirty minutes Jemma had retreated to the comfort of her lab unable to watch any more. Fitz had followed without a word. She'd been able to tell that her lab partner had been affected as well. Now they stood in the lab in silence. Finally Fitz turned on the tv that was in the upper left corner. Jemma moved to stop him.

"Fitz."

"Sorry, but I have to know. It's driving me nuts I can't help but I need to know what's happening."

Jemma moved closer to Fitz as the screen came to life. They watched as Thor battled heroically against the dark elf. Watched as Thor bounced between realms. Each time reappearing more bruised and bloodied than before. They watched as Jane Foster and her team helped Thor as best they could with limited resources. Jane was a hero of Jemma's and to see her in action was something special. Or would be if it weren't all so terrifying. The literal fate of their world; their home was in the hands of a DemiGod from another.

The remote clattered to the lab table as Leo smashed it down in frustration. Jemma jumped slightly and slid an arm around her friend's waist. She rested her head on his left shoulder.

"We should be helping them."Leo whispered. "Damn space time portal gravitational flux is messing with everything. Electronics; computers."

As if on cue the image on the tv flickered and fizzed with static. Even the advanced tech of S.H.I.E.l.D had limits to what it could endure. The image stabilized just as Thor vanished again.

"I know."Jemma replied quietly. "But there's one thing we can do to help them."

"What?"Leo asked his gaze fixed on the screen.

"Pray."Simmons stated.

They did. Each hoping against hope that a hero from another galaxy would save them once again.
