A/N: What's this? My first S/P fanfiction in years? And it's not Kyman? What is this sorcery? Haha. This is just a short but sweet, quick Creek fic I just cranked out. It's probably no good and it probably has mistakes, but so what? I wanted to write it, so I wrote it. I'm not up to date with South Park (I need to change that soon!) but I've been playing The Fractured But Whole all weekend and I have fallen in love with Creek so… enjoy!

I don't own South Park or any of it's characters. Obviously.

A Creek Always Reaches The Sea

It had started as an act. The people of South Park had been devastated when they had 'broken up' so what were a few more lies, really? They had 'gotten back together' just to please everybody but they hadn't meant for it to become real. Somehow, though, over time, it had.

To keep their parents happy they had spent a lot of time at each other's houses. They had played video games and watched films together. And, when their parents stared for too long, they would briefly hold hands just to keep up the act.

The hand holding had been rare to begin with, just in public and just when enough people were around to see. Over time, however, they found their hands being entwined for longer and when less people were around. Occasionally, Craig would squeeze his fingers and, after a moments hesitation, Tweek would squeeze back.

They began staring, too, when they thought the other wasn't looking. They began noticing things for the first time that they had never noticed before. Craig noticed how, for example, when he held Tweek's hand, the coffee addicted boy would calm. Tweek noticed how Craig would rush in to defend him if anybody ever said anything even slightly rude. They noticed other things, too; how they each had a smile reserved only for the other. How their eyes lit up when it got to the end of the day and they could go home together.

Craig called him pet names when other were around: honey, babe. Somewhere along the line he started using those pet names when they were alone, too.

Somewhere along the line, it all just became normal.

Somewhere along the line they just accepted that they were no longer lying, that they really were a couple and that that was okay. They were okay with it. More than that, they were happy with it. They made each other happy.

Despite this realisation, they didn't kiss for the longest time. They were only ten, after all. Kissing was not as high on their list of priorities as hanging out. Things were good as they were, they needn't complicate stuff.

Eventually, though, it was bound to happen. And happen it did, with no planning or preparation, with no audience and no encouragement. They were alone and Tweek had spilt coffee all over himself. It had been lukewarm but he still freaked out. He wouldn't be Tweek if he didn't. Craig brought him over a towel and a smirk.

"Calm down, Tweek," he said, laughing, taking his hand to calm him. "It wasn't hot, was it?"

"Gah! N-no, but – "

Craig acted without thinking, brushing a loose strand of blond out of Tweek's face. The shorter boy stopped twitching, his eyes going wide. They stared at each other for a whole minute, like deers caught in headlights, before Craig acted, brushing his lips against Tweek's in an innocent, short-but-sweet kiss. He pulled away with a blush while Tweek stared at him open mouthed.

"You should probably change," Craig said, handing him the towel with as little physical contact as possible. He turned away but caught the small smile spreading across Tweek's red face as he did. He waited until his back was facing the blond before he let his own smile grow.

It had started as an act but a creek always reaches the sea in the end. And the sea may be vast and scary but it is also beautiful and exciting, fresh and wonderful.

And, perhaps, kissing would have to be pushed a little higher on their list of priorities from now on…
