A doll's house
"The miracle of mira - " The door slams.
"No, no! I'll go talk some sense into her," Helmer gets up and starts chasing Nora.
"Nora, what are you doing? Can't we live together? Why are you doing this?"
"Oh Torvald, I have already made my choice. Whatever you do, you can't change my mind,"
Nora is at the doorstep of Mrs Linde. "Nora, what are you doing here at this time?"
"I have left Torvald,"
"You what?" Mrs. Linde exclaims
"I have left Torvald," Nora says for the second time.
"Alright, since you don't have anywhere to go. I'll put you up for the night,"
Nora goes inside and she is surprised.
"Christine, what is Krogstad doing here?" Nora asked.
"He just came to visit me, that's all,"
"You! You were the one who let Torvald know! You put the le - "
"Mrs Helmer, or as I should say, Nora, I can explain," Krogstad tried to explain.
"-tter into the box! You knew I couldn't do anything to stop you from being sacked! You knew, yet you left it in that box!"
"Nora, it was me," Mrs Linde confesses.
"Christine, what do you mean?"
"Nils wanted to take the letter back from the box. It was I who stopped him from doing so,"
"But why?"
"I thought that – I-I wanted Torvald to know,"
"So I guess that makes us three castaways living together," Krogstad says unexpectedly.
"What do you mean, Krogstad?"
"Just call me Nils. You see, while Christine was telling me not to take back the letter, she suggested that we-we marry,"
"Krogstad, oh fine, Nils, I'll just be here for the night. That's it. I may come and visit though,"
"I also want to apologise for the letter,"
"Never mind Nils. Anyway, that tested Torvald's love for me, and I now know that he didn't love me at all," Nora said.
"I think I'll go now, it is getting late. Good night Christine, and good night to you too, Nora," Krogstad says, for once not threatening Nora.
"Well Nora, I think I'll go to bed. Sleep well Nora,"
"I wish you the same Christine,"
Nora is happy with where she is staying for the night. However, Torvald isn't. This is his first night alone after marrying Nora.
"What have I done? What did I do? Why can't she just see that what she did was wrong? Why did my little skylark have to go away?" Helmer asks himself. "Why didn't I see the signs? The way she didn't want me, her husband, to talk to her? I should have asked her what was wrong. Why, Nora?"
That night, Torvald didn't sleep a wink. He was still thinking about the events of the past day. Meanwhile, Nora is sleeping very well in Christine's place.
