FABLE

Mai never needed a storybook ending. It is not her speed.

She did kind of always want to have a point in her life where everything made sense. She thinks everyone does; or at least she imagines so.

Unfortunately, that never happened.

She is Fire Lady with a daughter and is married to a guy who loves her, but she finds herself abnormally attracted to an unattainable man.

He brings it up once in a while.

That makes her want to stab him in the neck.

"The only reason I don't," she says after expressing exactly that sentiment, and he watches her with such predatory golden eyes, "is because I don't find you boring."

Which implies that Zuko is.

Which is correct.

The endings of those lovely fables always have bored Mai.
