Disclaimer: I do not own Mario, Luigi or any other Mario things. I don't own NASCAR Thunder 2003 or any of the drivers in there. I also don't own Mario Kart, Xbox or Xbox 360.

The Legend of Mario Kart

Prologue

It was a bright day in the Mushroom Kingdom, as usual. Mario and Luigi are inside playing video games. They were playing NASCAR Thunder 2003.

"Come on, Dale! You can do it!" Mario cheered for his racer, Dale Earnhardt Jr..

"Let's go, Rusty!" Luigi cheered for his racer, Rusty Wallace.

Mario then thought of something, "Luigi, if the year is 2006, then why are we playing NASCAR Thunder 2003? And on an Xbox! There should at least be an Xbox 360!"

"Yeah," Luigi agreed.

Someone knocked on the door.

"Damn!" Mario paused the game. He went to the door. He opened it. Toad was there.

"Hey, Mario! Hey, Luigi! Tomorrow is the 1st annual Mario Kart race. It would be nice to have you guys come!" he said.

"Mario Kart?" Mario asked.

"It's a race that takes place every year in your honor. Tomorrow will be the first race," Toad answered.

"Well, then, I guess me and Luigi'll join," Mario said.

"Alright, then! Everyone is signed up then!" Toad said.

"Who else signed up?" Mario asked.

"Well, we have 10 contestants. You, Luigi, Peach, me, Wario, Bowser, Waluigi, Daisy, Yoshi and Donkey Kong," Toad answered, "the race is at 9:00 a.m.. All the contestants come to Peach's castle and the race will begin!"

"Alright, then. See you tomorrow, Toad," Mario said.

"Bye!" Toad said, walking away.

Mario and Luigi did everything they could to make the rest of the day go by really quickly. They played more NASCAR, they ran around in circles, they watched funny movies, until, finally. They went to bed at 2:00 a.m.. The excitement of the race kept them up. They wanted to go to bed earlier, but they couldn't.

They woke up the next morning. Mario looked at the clock. It was 8:30 a.m.!

"Luigi! Hurry! It's 8:30!" Mario panicked. He got dressed as quickly as he could and tried to get Luigi to get ready as fast as he could. But, when they were all done with that, it was 8:55!

"Luigi, hurry! Through the warp pipe!" they ran outside and jumped into the warp pipe.

"Oh! You guys are 4 minutes early!" Toad said when they got there. It was 8:56 when they got there. Finally, at 8:59, the other 8 got there. Then it was 9:00! Let the race begin!
