She was having a nightmare again. Her body quivered as she laid in her queen sized bed, the moonlight shining down on my angel's troubled face. She mumbled my name, her voice needing.
I moved from the window to the side of her bed, reaching for her. I was reluctant to touch her at first, afraid that the sudden touch of my cold skin would wake her. But, the nightmares always got to her first.
"No!" she was crying now, evidently awake. Now lying beside her, I touched my fingers to her cheek.
"Edward," she sobbed, "please don't leaveā¦"
"I never will," I whispered, holding her close against my chest, "I love you, Bella, I will never leave you're side again."
I ran my lips slowly across her cheek, kissing every inch of her face. Her sobbing died down to soft whimpers of her sorrow. I hated to see her cry, especially when I was the reason that tears fell from her eyes. Why had I left Forks, thinking that I could have lived without her. Little did she know, I was aching for her just the way she ached for me. She was my alive nightmare, a temptation, my singer. I wanted to be with her forever. I wanted to be able to kiss her as passionately as I wanted to. But, I did not want to rip her soul away. Being with me would damn her into an eternity of hell. She'd forever be the same, never being able to sleep, never being able to eat normally. She would have to kill innocent creatures for her nourishment. It was too late though, my family had already promised her to be changed.
"Edward, you do know tomorrow is graduation, right?"
This instantly broke me from my trane of thought. I had completely forgot,I didn't realize the day Carlisle had planned was so close. In three days, after the writhing in agony, her heart would stop. My face somewhat tensed.
"Are you angry?" she whispered.
"No, darling, just disappointed."
"Please don't be," she said as she ran her fingers through my hair, "I want nothing more than to be with you forever."
"Bella, I don't understand," I said as I sat up, "don't you want to be normal? Don't you want to be her for your parents?" At this, she sat up as well.
"Normal? For me, there is nothing more normal than to be with you."
She pushed me back down on the bed kissing me. I could feel the passion radiating from her perfect lips. She opened her mouth. I broke the kiss, feeling disappointed that I could not return as much passion with out being overwhelmed by her scent.
"You'll have to wait only a little longer, my love." I whispered as I looked into her perfect brown eyes.
"I love you, Edward." These words always made my dead heart swell.
"I love you to." I answered as I pulled her back into my arms, "You're the only thing that makes my heart feel like it can beat again."
