Troy grew up with the Montez family, Gabriellas older brothers best friend, I think her brothers name was Nick. Troy was in love with Sharpay but she married Nick, so he moved away, also he was a doctor. When he comes back for the wedding he and Gabriella have a one night stand and she gets pregnant. They eventually fall in love. Also Gabriella was a photographer, or at least trying to be one, and her family owned a big restaurant.
