In the Right Place
It had been a long night and Christian was glad that Capricorn had finally closed. He was exhauseted from pulling a week's worth of double shifts and all he wanted to do was to climb into bed until Monday when he had to do it all over again.
He walked around the club one last time to make sure that there wasn't anybody left in the club. When he confirmed that the place was empty he locked up and stepped out into the darkened alley way.
"Don't. Please just leave me alone," Christian heard a familiar voice say. He turned the corner and saw Dani pinned against the wall. Some guy was holding her there against her will.
Christian pulled out his gun and pointed it at the man. "Let the girl go," Christian shouted.
"Just mind you're own business. I was just showing her a good time," the man stated.
"It doesn't look like she's enjoying herself. Let her go,"
"You don't scare me. It's probably not even loaded," the man stated.
Christian fired the gun into the air. "If I have to ask you again, the next shot will be in your back."
The man let go of Dani and took off running. Christian wanted to go after him, but he couldn't leave Dani.
He slowly approached her. "It's okay Dani, you're safe now. Did he hurt you?"
"No, you showed up just in time. If you hadn't have been there..."
"I'm glad that I was in the right place at the right time," he said as he took off his jacket and wrapped it around her arms. He could feel her trembling and all he wanted to do was make her feel safe so he wrapped his arms around her.
"You're safe now. I'm never going to let anybody hurt you," Christian stated as Dani sobbed in his arms.
"Do you want me to take you to the police station?" Christian asked.
"I'll go down tomorrow. I just want to go home tonight," Dani stated.
"Let me drive you home," Christian stated.
"I've got my car, but thanks anyways. Thanks for everything."
Christian watched as Dani got into her car and then he followed her home to make sure that she made it home safely. Somehow she had become his responsibility and he was determined to keep his promise and make sure that nobody ever hurt her.
