A/n: This is my VERY FIRST attempt at Free Verse. I know very well I'm crap at it (because, I reaaally don't know what Free Verse is, at all). I hope you people can read it and tell me how I can make it better? Pretty please?

This was written for the Free Verse Competition. The prompt was Umbrella and the pairing was JustinSusan!

Rain was the Healer; Rain was the cleanser;

Rain washed away what people did not want,

Washed away the things people did not want to face.

He was her rain;

Not the thunderstorm that kept her awake at nights,

Not the summer sprinkle that reminded her of spring,

A steady downpour.

Nothing beautiful; nothing interesting

But he was her rain,

And he washed away her sorrows; Cleansed her mind,

Cleansed it until it was empty of the sorrow,

Empty of the sorrow noone had time to notice.

Notice how she was coming apart at the seams,

Coming apart at the seams so suddenly.

So suddenly she couldn't run away,

Run away from hope,

Away from hope and disappointment.

Disappointed in herself because,

Because he was her rain and she had no umbrella.

She had no umbrella and she was drenched;

Drenched and washed away.
