The Doctor grabbed Donna by her hand. Their eyes met, and suddenly everything in the background disappeared. This was it, everything was over. The TARDIS was gone, earth was destroyed and all hope was lost. "I'm sorry Donna. I'm so sorry." Donna raised her head to look the Doctor in the eyes. He was broken and lost; she had never seen him this way. She squeezed his hand and held on for dear life. If she were to die today at least she would die with him. And so she did; she died beside the alien she loved and he died beside the human he loved. No regeneration, no last quick plan to save the day, it just ended. Everything just ended. His earth girl, her spaceman; now and forever.
