Author: over fifteen years and this fandom still lurks into my head. I've been writing Mighty Duck fanfics for so many years and I think it was probably the first fandom I took a dive into. And this is probably the closest to some of my original fanfics as I've managed to get in the past few years. Anyways: Disney own Duke, Dragonus, Puckworld and the Brotherhood.
Duke stretched out on the couch, staring at the ceiling quietly.
Two years...
Two years since they chased Dragonus through the dimensional gateway to Earth with no way to get home.
Home... Puckworld...
There were only some places of Puckworld he ever called home.
The places that were usually only talked about in whispers because some ducks thought it was just some urban legend.
Places where what lurked in the dark tended to be a lot scarier than the dark.
Places where quick wits and quicker hands meant you made it back from trips to the world "upstairs".
The Underground... entire cities existing beneath the surface of some parts of Puckworld.
Some ducks said they were from Drake DuCaine's time.
Some said they were even older.
The Underground was where the ducks who didn't fit in to the surface world ended up... If they were lucky.
The Underground, despite it's dangers, had become his sanctuary and home.
He had heard the rumors about cities under the surface... About ducks who went searching but never returned.
He shifted position, sighing deeply and closing his eye.
The city he had stumbled across, Shadow Haven, was all dark stone in shades of black, grey, blue and colors he couldn't begin to name.
Most of the homes were built against the stone walls or into them.
There were vaults and libraries hidden behind slabs of stone that were easily moved, if you knew how.
Most of the shops: bakeries, bookstores, tailors, healers and blacksmiths were located in the center of the city.
Some of what they needed, they stole from the surface or some shipments that were supposed to go to grocery stores would go "missing" only to be delivered to the Underground instead.
He had loved all of it: living in a society that was only rumored to exist, the quirky ducks that lived in Shadow Haven and the Brotherhood.
The Brotherhood: the eccentric band that kept the city supplied with whatever it needed and also kept it safe.
Some of them, like him, had a taste for things that while not necessary... were fun to steal.
Jewels caught his eye and he found the thrill of stealing them invigorating.
He missed home.
Not Puckworld...
His home, hidden from surface society by secrets.
