Simply Her Blood

Disclaimer: I do not own these characters or the wonderfully written masterpiece/movie/play known as "The Phantom of the Opera" only the story plot that came to me in a dream.

Author's Note: ErikXChristine may seem out of character. I wrote this with a modern day setting and Erik as something beautifully of the supernatural creatures of the night.

Her heart felt as if it were slowly breaking. How could one feel such pain? How could one endure to live? Love had been too cruel this time and ending in heartache. She was so disappointed for falling so foolishly and so quick. And with him of all the men that lusted after her. Oh then she thought back and wondered, "How could she not?" His deep eyes that searched her soul...His smile that shone like rays of sunlight...His lips that kissed her so passionately...Oh, how could she not fall for a guy like him? It was hard to believe he was not a dream come true. To her and many others, he seemed to be a person near perfection. He had his flaws though she saw past them, just to wish to be near him. Love does make people do foolish things. She recalled of their brief fling and could not imagine what she did wrong. How could he ever love her as she did for him? Maybe that was it...he wasn't human? This being could be of the supernatural...She was but a lamb herded by the wolf waiting for its prey. The way he lured her was simply too easy. He always had a new girl every week, only to find new prey for the week following. Her tears fell silently as she slept at last in the early hours of the morning.

He watched outside her bedroom window, sensing something different about her. She seemed to be like the rest. He only intended to get his fill of her sweet blood as he did with all the others. Though only it was her blood that called to him and he knew he would have to wait. Their kind had rules and the consequences could be deadly for the victim(s). He knew how others saw him and could not resist their attention from him. Was he not being kind to the humans? He was envious of their lives and how they took it for granted. They did not know that life was short...He remembered the day he died and when he was reborn into the life he now knew and called the nightmare...
