Daughter Of A Dragon

Mal quickly slipped her spell book into her purple satchel when she sensed prince 'Benny Boo' approaching. She secretly rolled her eyes before closing her locker door and smirked at her long live evil insignia before turning towards the annoying prince,

"A Future king and a stalker or am I just lucky?" She asked in a sarcastic yet bored tone and Ben simply chuckled awkwardly before smiling politely,

"Errrrm... No. No, it's just I've been advised by both my parents and also the headmistress that a safety procedure has been added to the academy's rota" he explained and Mal rolled her eyes, bored,

"I look forward to receiving the lecture in the daily assembly which I like to call cruel and unusual torture" she said bored before turning to walk away but Ben quickly made his way in front of her,

"No, No... Don't worry there'll be no lecture because... Well this guideline only applies to you" he explained awkwardly and Mal's eyes widened and she folded her arms,

"I see... So what exactly is this... 'Guideline'?" She said acting as if she couldn't give a damn but her interest was in deed peeked and Ben rubbed the back of his neck embarrassed,

"Well errrrrm... It is... It's actually now forbidden for anyone to transform themselves into a dragon" he explained and Mal soon lost eye contact with him, and Ben could tell that this insulted her in some way,

"I'm... I'm sorry" he tried but Mal looked at him angrily,

"Oh why don't you just go and look at that statue of your father that... That beastifies itself every five seconds!" She said angrily before storming off.

Ben eventually found her in the woods that surrounded the campus,

"There you are... I... I got the headmistress to let you off on being late... I figured that you needed sometime alone... Listen I really am..." He began but Mal interrupted,

"I can't... Turn into a dragon" she admitted but didn't look at him,

"I'm not like my mother... She's all powerful and I'm... I'm just useless" she said sadly and Ben instantly sat beside her,

"I don't believe that for a second... You're not useless Mal... Yes I agree that you're not your mother... You're Mal and that's so much more to be proud of" he said and Mal couldn't help but look at him and smiled softly,

"You're gonna be a great king" she praised and he looked at her surprised,

"Thank you" he said and watched as she retrieved as strange leather bound book with a dragon insignia on the cover from her purple satchel and he looked curious as she opened it to a page,

"What's that?" He asked curiously and Mal looked up at him sadly,

"Just a dream" she said before waving her finger in a square shape,

"I don't want attention so forget the conversation" she whispered before putting her book back into her bag and Ben was startled back into reality as he heard the school bell,

"Oh dear. My dad will kill me. Come on Mal we're gonna be late" he said before jogging back to the school and Mal smiled secretly to herself before following.
