Dr. Weir's Day

The brown-haired doctor blinked blearily at her reflection in the mirror as she sipped at her coffee. She still wasn't sure that she was cut out for all of this. Beyond that, she kind of wished her hair was blond again. Oh, well, she thought, better get ready for the day.

At 0730, there was a small explosion in one of the labs and one of the scientists had his eyebrows singed off. Twenty minutes later, Rodney McKay provoked one of the marines and caught a right hook in the eye. At 8:05, Major Sheppard's team left on their 8:00 mission, black eye and all.

Jinto and Wex released a bunch of the lab mice at two minutes before nine. Dr. Beckett angrily informed her about the incident at 9:07 and Halling disciplined Jinto and sent Wex to his quarters at 9:14.

Around 10:25, Major Sheppard's team ran back through the gate. Rodney now had two black eyes and a puffy lip, Teyla had a sprained ankle, and Ford was wearing white face paint. The major was untouched. An hour later, a delegation came through the gate from that same planet and accused McKay of mouthing off to their most respected leader. Whoops.

They finally left at 1400 and Dr. Weir went to the mess hall for lunch. Just as she sat down to eat, the alarm began to sound. One of the other teams was requesting a medical unit. Dr. Beckett was still in fits over the missing rodents and it was discovered that McKay had received his second black eye and busted lip from a woman.

Nine hours later, Dr. Elizabeth Weir collapsed into bed, unsure where the time had gone, but certain that several more things had gone catastrophically wrong. Just as she drifted off the sleep, the alarms began to sound again. Oh, and Carson was still mad about the missing mice.
