Part One: Getting Started
"…Wake up…"
"Hey, you need to wake up!"
Jill rolled over and sat up, blinking the sleep away from her eyes only to come face to face with a strange blonde woman towering above her.
Slack jawed and eyes wide, the brunette stuttered a response. The woman, however, paid no attention to her garbling.
"Alright!" she said sternly. "You've got a letter. From the Harvest King, that is."
"The…Harvest King," Jill deadpanned, unbelieving. "And who are you, anyway? How did you get into my house?"
The blonde smirked. "I am the witch princess! Now, read that letter. I don't have all day you know."
Jill threw the covers off her legs, got up from the bed and took the letter from the Witch's hand in a sort of daze. She opened it slowly and unfolded the paper.
"Hello," she raid aloud. "This is the Harvest King. The Harvest Goddess and Sprites were punished because you didn't work. What? So this is my fault?" Jill asked angrily.
The witch shrugged. "Well yeah, just finish reading."
Jill snorted and continued. "They've been sent away to another world. If you work hard and achieve your goals, I will return the Harvest Goddess and the sprites to this world. Do you understand?"
"Do you?" The witch smirked.
Jill glared. "Yes, I do."
"Go on, there should be more," she added.
"Right…um, the two harvest sprites at the Harvest Sprite Station, and Guts at Harvest Sprite Inc. are still in this world so they should be able to help you get started. Well, do your best."
"Sincerely," Jill looked up at the Witch. "The Harvest King."
The witch sighed as Jill collapsed back onto her bed, running a hand through her hair. "It's going to be lonely now that I have nobody to argue with. Anyway," she smiled. "Work hard! Even I'm counting on you."
With a flash, the Witch Princess was gone and Jill was left gaping openly at the spot she had momentarily been in a moment before.
"Right," she mumbled to herself, reaching over to grab her clothes. "I have to save the Goddess and the Sprites…I will do my best."
"Now," she said determinedly. "I should get started."
With that, she stepped outside of her small home, thinking of her mother.
