Disclaimer: I don't have enough money, nor the creativity to keep them alive... so if their
rightful owners don't mind, I'll just adopt them to pass a lonely summer night. :)
Author's Notes: Yea, I know... there is no snow on the ground in summer (even up here in Canada,
contrary to popular belief) but I guess I was just responding to the lack thereof. and
desperately, and I mean desperately, trying to overcome this awful WB that comes with the end of
a season. so dont expect anything great. (although I hop it's not too bad....
enjoy (if you can)....

Snow
-------

Carter trudged through the knee-deep snow, Abby followed, carefully placing her less snow worthy
shoes in Carter's footprints. Her attempts to save her shoes fell flat, and she indifferently
sacrificed her shoes to the white stuff. She lengthened her strides to march beside Carter.

"What happened to saving your shoes?"

"Lost cause."

"Told ya."

"No, you said they weren't worth saving! Not that I couldn't save them." Abby remarked with a
playful punch to Carter's ribs. It really didn't matter to her that he didn't like her shoes, she
didn't like his tie, and she had right out said it. So there.

"You better watch it!" Carter returned, as he picked up a handful of snow and smothered her face
with the icy fluff.

Abby sputtered with the shock of having a second dinner of a less tasty sort. When she finally
recovered, she launched herself at Carter, who, not expecting a full force Abby-rocket to come
his way, was knocked into the snow bank. For the few seconds it took for the snow to settle, the
two were enveloped in a white haze. A rather cold white haze.

"Abby!" Carter said amazed, "You have real force when you propel yourself like that!"

"Don't mess with girls." She replied smartly, but couldn't contain her laughter. The two of them
burst out in teenage giggles.

"Jeez, Carter," Abby said between laughs, "When did we regress ten years?"

"Uh... I think it was around the time you elbowed me....which hurt by the way.."

"Wuss."

That comment, of course earned her yet another face full of snow. Instead of electing the fight
reaction, Abby opted for the flight method. She was off in one swift motion, leaving Carter to
sort out what had just transpired, but by the time he had, she was already safely inside the ER.

That was the best walk back from an AA meeting he had ever had.

The best fight.

Hell, the one and only time he had enjoyed the snow.
