She kissed me back.

She kissed me back.

Tara kept repeating this in her head. In the moment, there were no doubts or hesitations. No thinking, just action. Yet looking back now, Tara sat in a humble, giddy reflection. She relived Pam's hand stroking the side of her face, her touch soft yet deliberate.

She wished it had never ended. The kisses started soft, but then hands began to roam. Breaths got heavier, kisses became deeper. Neither one seemed to remember that they weren't alone in the room. Sookie and Jessica tried to look away, but couldn't seem to. The held their gaze in child-like wonder.

When they finally broke apart, neither one said anything. Their eyes met in silence. Pam felt an urge to look away or at least appear as uninvested as possible, but Tara grabbed her hand gently and Pam returned with the slightest of a smile. It was subtle but lit up her entire face.

"Sh-should we get going?" Jessica mumbled.

The circumstances then dawned on them. "Yes, let's get the fuck out of here," Pam said brusquely, but looking back towards Tara with another smile.
