This is going to be the best Valentine's Day ever, thought Beast Boy, the day I win Terra's heart once and for all!

Beast Boy slid the gift across the cafeteria table.

"What'd you get me this time?" said Terra. "Not another book, I hope. I hate books. Except books about rocks, of course."

Robin and Raven snickered over their cheeseburger trays.

"Or maybe it's another stuffed cat like you got me for Christmas. I hate stuffed animals, tho' of course I rather enjoy throwing rocks at them!"

"Go on...open it," said Beast Boy, holding his breath.

Terra ripped the wrapping off the package and tossed it onto the linoleum floor.

"Chocolates?" said Terra, staring at the heart-shaped candy box. "Beast Boy, I'm allergic to anything chocolate!"

Robin and Raven exchanged nervous glances at one another.

"Open the box," said Beast Boy.

"Are you trying to kill me, Beast Boy?" said Terra. But, curious, she held her nose and pried the lid off the box.

"Beast Boy!" Terra's eyes sparkled like diamonds. "You shouldn't have. I...I...lo..."

"You don't have to say it. I know," said Beast Boy, whose face burned as crimson as the giftwrap that lay crumpled at his feet.

Robin and Raven peeked in the box and saw how Beast Boy had replaced all the chocolates in the delicate paper cups with...rocks!

Terra carefully chose a rock from the box. Beast Boy got a running start as Terra took aim.

This is the best Valentine's Day ever, thought Beast Boy, as the lucky stone slammed into the back of his skull.
