What if dying meant you could save your life. It sounded crazy but that was exactly what Bonnie Bennett needed to do
"I have to do this" she said out loud trying to convince herself this was the best plan of action.
Bonnie Bennett had never been one for dramatics, but there she was standing at the edge of the lake ready to plunge into the cold September water. "It's necessary" she repeated, trying to remind herself why exactly she was doing this. "I have to correct my mistakes" she said as she took one big gulp of air, and descended into the cold depths of the lake.
This is it, she thought this is the end.
As she took her final breath, the words of grams rang in her head "to save a life you have to make a sacrifice" Bonnie Bennett had just committed the perfect sacrifice, an act of self sacrifice, the painful thing is no one would know.
No one would know, she thought repeatedly, no one would even remember her.

Damon Salvatore
May 5th 2013
Dear diary,
It's been 2 months since me and Stefan came to this god awful town to find Katherine and still no sign of her.
Ugh how does Stefan do this diary shit, Damon thought as he threw the diary across the room. He was frustrated and in need of a good drink. Shame he couldn't get drunk on scotch, how he wish he could but he was immortal. The only thing that can satisfy him is blood and not just any blood, a certain witch's blood.
He grinned as he remembered the first time she had let him taste her blood, it felt just like yesterday but that was probably because it was. He had that little witch wrapped around his fingers, she was his to control and there was nothing she could do about it.
She had let him drink her blood the bond was secured, she was his witch now . He liked the sound of that. Bonnie Bennett his own personal witch, she wouldn't like that at all he thought but there was nothing she could do about it.
"Why do you look so chipper Damon" Stefan remarked as he walked into the study where Damon was and poured himself a glass of scotch.
Upon seeing Stefan Damon wiped the grin off his face and replaced it with a scowl.
"I take it back, you don't seem so chipper anymore" Stefan says, putting his hands up as if to block the imaginary daggers Damon was throwing his way.
"so" Stefan continued when damon made no move to acknowledge stefan's presence other than giving him another dirty look.
"You're still mad at me uhh"
"Mad at you no Stefan im not mad" damon said so calmly that Stefan almost choked on his drink.
And with that Damon exited the room.
Bonnie Bennett
Dear diary,
I can sense him everywhere I go, it's only been a day since I stupidly let Damon Salvatore drink my blood and I already feel the bond. I can't escape what is coming now.
She had let her need to save someone no matter if that person was a murderous vampire, get in the way of her judgment. She had made a big mistake and was now going to pay for it.
Her grams had warned her "don't trust the salvatores" she had drilled into bonnie's head. But bonnie hadn't listened.
She was brought out of her thoughts by the sound of her doorbell ringing
As she walked towards the door she was gripped by a sense of urgency and walked faster to the door. She knew exactly who it was and 2 months ago she would have ignored him but things were different now.
Groaning she opened the door.
"hello bon bon" damon said in his annoying condescending tone.
"don't call me that" Bonnie replied but she noticed the snark was not in her tone like normal. It was a different tone. Omg did I just flirt with damon Salvatore?
Damon must have thought the same because he suddenly had a mischievous look in his eyes as he said "well are you going to invite me in?"
