Prologue.
She thought that she had understood what prison meant. All the books, all the advices, they could never prepar her for what was coming. Soon she found out why experience is the best teacher, and she learned, oh god, how she learned.
It wasn't the absence of freedom that it was most painful, or the rules, not even the abuse. The cruelty was saved for her mind, because there isn't worst sensation that being trapped in your own head. There is no escape, you are alone there – and there were never a most haunted place that the corridors of Piper's brain. All the memories that became ghosts were free and shortly they consumed everything.
She watched powerless as everything that she fought so hard to keep buried came back stronger, hungry. The changes happened faster that it should, her old habits wasn't old anymore. But the biggest difference no one could see, neither could her, the only clue was the emotion – like she was falling, there is no end or how to stop.
And soon she was left to face the darkness alone. This side of her pushed everybody away, it broke everything that she touches. Larry, Alex. Maybe she deserved, but it doesn't hurts any less.
She thought that she had already reached the rock bottom, but the hole is much deeper.
It wasn't what she had planned, it just happened. Sometimes a mind does anything for relieve. Unfortunately for Tiffany she was there in the moment. Her hands were unstoppable, a punch after the other, without a break, without thinking. No one could tell to whom the blood belong to, was everywhere, the strong and unmistakable smell she would never forget.
It was only when she had no more force that she stopped. The tears was running free on her face, her body wouldn't stop trembling. She looked her hands, they were rigid and bruised, the cuts between the bones making the skin burn. However wasn't the pain that made it her mind come back to reality, but the scent and the vibrant red spread on her clothes, contrasting with her pale skin.
Finally she realized that she was still sitting over Tiffany's body. Her motionless body. Panic, pure panic.
"No, no, no, no, no." she reaches her neck looking for pulse. Took some seconds but it's there, barely, but is there. "C'mon you fucking lunatic don't do this to me. "
"Looks like you fucked this one up Chapman." She raises her face to find MrHilly standing there, staring, smirking. Her angry comes back as it had never left.
"Your prick, sick pervert, how could you not do anything?"
"Oh honey but I'm going to." he presses the radio stuck in his uniform, never taking his eyes off her or the smile of his lips. Because he knows how bad it is. "I found Chapman over the unconscious body of Doggett."
She sees his mouth moving, she can feel when he shoves her against the wall. Her eyes are still open, but she's no longer aware of her surroundings.
