Voldemort's Childhood
Okay so this one is entitled: "Voldemort's Childhood". Why? Because I'm fascinated and obsessed with this character.
Tom Marvolo Riddle, a name that will spark fear amongst wizards and witches. A name that will rise in power, with many obeying him and following him like puppets and slaves. Tom is now musing and pondering about things at the orphanage and always observing with his red eyes, like a leopard in the night. Always doing wrong things like stealing others' stuff and breaking up other couples. He found relationships to be disgusting and distasteful. He thought wizards and witches should be above making out at school, kissing and holding hands like Muggles. Love is a weak emotion for him. And displaying affections to another being is like showing one's weakness in public. He'd never do that himself. But he'll confess : he once crushed or had feelings for a girl in the Orphanage, named Elleena. But he refused to succumb to such emotions. He didn't want trouble in his life at that time.
Then, he met Professor Dumbledore one day, a mentor he admired greatly and looked upon. Dumbledore told him he was a wizard, therefore not an ordinary person. He immediately asked him : What's a wizard? Dumbledore proceeded to break the news gently to him, and by explaining step by step.
At Hogwarts, he studied to be the best wizard in school and to beat everyone else in every course. Why? Because a classmate called him a "Mudblood". He was so very successful at Hogwarts, even got Hagrid in prison for "being Slytherin's heir", a fabrication and a lie. Everybody else knew HE was Slytherin's descendant, but couldn't say it out loud, afraid of him. He loved his power over other wizards. He seduced many to his side, the "Dark Side". He began also researching on the Dark Arts, something he excelled at. He always got top marks in this course and was Slytherin's champion many times over. He adhered to Salazar Slytherin's beliefs. No Muggleborn should be allowed in a Wizard's school. And many of his followers did too, though not to his extent. And when he got enough Death Eaters, he renamed himself Lord Voldemort. Wizards and Witches began to be afraid of it.
For example, he caught Severus Snape with Lily Evans, a Mublood. He warned him about being with her. And when Severus tried to get her forgiveness after having hurt her feelings by calling her a "Mudblood", he thought Snape was laughable and even ridiculous, even weak, to love a Mudblood so.
He summoned Severus Snape to their Headquarters and had a "talk" with him. "How can you betray me so, Severus? And besides, what do you see in her? Are there not enough Witches in school for you?"
"My Lord, I love her, I know why you're after her, because of the prophecy. Please spare her for me. I'm begging of you. I'll do anything for you. " At that, Voldemort let out a pure evil laugh, and watched Severus beg. He liked it so much when someone begged him for mercy. He showed them none.
"No Severus, either you're with me wholeheartedly, or against me! And I order you to stop seeing her! Obey me at once, lest she suffer at your own hand! And she doesn't really like you at this moment anyway. I'm saying this for your own survival and your own good, you're brighter than this, Severus."
"Yes I will, My Lord and I thank you for your concern about me". Snape had no choice. He decided to give up on Lily Evans entirely, the love of his life, for her safety and to watch that James Potter be happy with her. He'd let her be happy with him, his arch-rival at school.
And Lily Evans did indeed marry James Potter after school, and gave him a son, named Harry Evans Potter. And Lord Voldemort did everything he could to destroy and kill the Potters.
