They killed the Empress,
Death will fall upon the wicked,
They will be punished.
Their blood will run dry,
As their life seeps from their veins,
They will drift away.
They will beg for time,
Time to to make up for the sins,
I will kill them first.
It's too late to stop,
I can no longer turn back,
They all must die now.
I will pay for this,
All the destruction I've caused,
All the lives I took.
I made a mistake,
I am sorry my love,
I did what I could.
I now regret this,
This isn't what she wanted,
But I made my choice.
Okay, okay, before anyone says anything, I know the second line isn't actually 'correct' but I say upon as one syllable and it's my haiku and you're not the haiku police and I can do what I want, so suck it up. I also know I said their so many times, I am sorry.
Now that I got that out of the way, this is about Corvo's dark path. I like the believe that he's not just a merciless killer. He's a heartbroken man who just had his lover killed in front of him and his daughter kidnapped. He seeks only vengeance, but one he gets what he wants, he realises that it won't bring her back, but at the point that he has already killed those responsible, he realises that in order to protect his daughter, he now how has to kill even more, and live with the consequences.
This one was a long time in the making, so I'm glad I finally started and finished it. I hope that you all enjoy it, despite the errors. Thank you for reading, I really appreciate. It always makes me happy to know people read my work. PM me if you need anything or want to suggest a haiku, please comment, it always really helps, and one last time, thank you so much for reading. (Can we talk about how lazy I am? I use that same ending thing for all of my haikus. I am very sorry, don't hate me.)
