Steve and Paul have known each other for many years, in fact they went to the same elementary school. The two of them were very close. With them they had no personal boundaries. One day during sophomore year they were at the library studying. Paul reached his hands over Steve to see if he could get a reaction out of him. (Paul and Paul's other friends have been trying to figure out if Steve is actually gay.) Steve didn't react, Paul noticed this and gave up for the day. As he was pulling away from Steve, Steve grabbed one of his hands and pleaded "Don't go yet. We still have some time." (Their other female friends had gone to the bathroom as a pair like typical adolescents at the time. And they had not returned yet.) Paul was astonished, those simple two sentences were all that Paul needed. Paul was basically stunned. He started to pull back again, but when he attempted to Steve kissed him on the cheek. An instant spark had hit both of them at that time and both looked deeply into each other's eyes and started to kiss. This would be Paul's first kiss, but not Steve's because he was on the football team and some cheerleader had thrown herself on him and without knowing it that was his first kiss.

Back in the second grade it was half way through the year and a new student had come from Mexico. His name was Steve. He was born in Florid, but his family moved to Mexico when he was very young so he barely spoke any English. Paul and his friend Ralph were just anxiously waiting for play time to start. When it got play time Steve was looking for some new friends to play with him. Paul and Ralph immediately took him in. They decided they were going to play hide and seek. When they started the game Steve was the last to touch his nose so he was it, the other two ran and hid for a good 10 minutes until in the faint wind they heard crying. They both headed back over to where Steve was as he was crying. They approached him as they got close Steve realized that they were there and he tried to cover up the fact that he was crying.

"What's wrong?" Asked Paul.

Steve who barely spoke a thing of English tried to gesture to him that he was confused why his two new friends had suddenly just run away. Paul realized that he had probably never played hide and seek before. So for the rest of play time they spent explaining the rules of hide and seek to Steve with strange hands gestures so he could understand no matter what language he spoke. Every side that time they have had a very strong connection.

Until one time in sixth grade...
