This is possibly very, extremely horrible. But, it possibly - isn't - i guess, so read it anyways First Mass Effect story. Had to do it cause the game is embedded in my brain, and im pissed you can't bang Ashley as a chick. Well, read and review if you like it. If enough people decide it's worth it i'll make more chapters. I'm planning on it being at least 5 - more or less depending on who wants what Have fun.

It was something she couldn't deal with.

Commander Jess Shepard could do anything. Fight off hundreds of thousands of geth. Save the universe. She was the poster child for sheer ability. The superstar of perfection.

Sure Saren had pissed her off. She had lost focus at times. Herself - a steel wall had been bombarded; slashed and beaten so much that she had faltered. But she had never lost sight and never lost composure.

Leaving Alenko behind was the hardest. Loosing a soldier is one thing, loosing a friends tears at your seams and stretches them - pulling until you rip or you glue yourself together. She knew it was the right decision. It had saved lives, it had done some good.

Shepard had been distressed. Angry. But she pulled the small seams back together, stood tall, continued on.

The final confrontation, as she called it. The defeat of Saren. The death toll - the destruction. Her insides felt ruptured and heavy, like they might spill front her mouth and she would slowly just fade away. But the Citadel was rebuilt, a new council was elected - she was hailed a hero.

The infamous Commander Shepard - the first human Spectre, savior of the universe, protector.

She was Commander Jess Shepard - and she couldn't deal with it.

She didn't know how to work around it; bullshit her way through it - be charming, pull a donkey out of her ass and be done with it. Love was one thing. Beautiful, amazing, and difficult. What she didn't understand was how one person could make it so much more beautiful, more amazing, and so much harder.

How one person could test the boundaries of everything she had ever known. Single handedly pull her apart without warning.

And when there was a sudden knock at the door, Shepard was surprised. Knocked straight out of her thoughts into reality.

"Come in." She was forming words in her head for impending doom.

"Commander," sighed Gunnery Chief Ashley Williams.
