A/N: This was done in like less than 30 minutes so it's short and crappy but what the heck. It was going to be this short originally but then I had planned to add some DenNor stuff in there and make it longer... But as you can see it ended up just being this. Oh by the way, this is based off the fact that Iceland's economy is basically s*** now... I mean, you know you're in trouble when McDONALD'S pulls out...
Beep… Beep… Beep…
Norway stared down at his younger brother's slightly flushed face, half-obscured by various breathing devices, tubes, wires, hospital sheets, and other things.
Slowly, gently, Norway lifted up Iceland's frail body from the bed and embraced him, tears running down his cheeks.
"Remember when we first met, Island? You were scared of me, so you ran away. I… I chased you… And then you slipped and fell over those rocks… You scraped your knee…"
The tears fell faster. "And… And I helped you… Helped you up… Then… Later… Later, when you were older…"
Norway took a deep, shuddering breath.
"You asked me… If we would be together forever…"
Norway gently lay Iceland back down.
"…And I said yes…"
Gently, Norway bent down and kissed Iceland's cheeks, his forehead, his closed eyelids. He left glittering drops of moisture behind.
"Nils… Please…. Don't leave me…"
Norway laid his head down on Iceland's hospital bed and sobbed.
Around him, all the machines continued their work with whirring noises and flashing lights.
Beep… Beep… Beep…
