Chapter One: Leaving

"Gabriel! I'm not a child, let me go with you!" Anna demanded.

"No, I forbid it," Gabriel replied sharply as he got his weapons ready. Anna let out a fustrated sigh. "Why?!" She questioned as she turned Gabriel to face her.

"Because," Gabriel muttered.

"That's not a reason," Anna stated.

Gabriel let out an angry sigh. "It is for me." he turned and continued to get his weapons ready. "Not For Me!" She demanded.

Gabriel put his head down. He looked over at her to see tears forming in her eyes. "I want you to be safe, is that so bad."

"I can take care of myself," Anna said in defense.

"I'm not in the mood to argue!" He Shouted.

He grabbed his bag and stormed out of the church.

Carl was getting his horse ready.

"Ah, there you are!" Carl said happily. "He's all ready."

Gabriel put his bag on the saddle. "Thanks Carl." He Gruffed.

"Having lady trouble?" Carl asked innocently.

Gabriel turned and looked at him. "She wants to come with me."

Carl shuffled his feet. "You won't let her."

"I want her to be safe, I dont want to risk losing her again," Gabriel pointed out. "promise me something."

"What?" Carl questioned.

"That you will keep her safe," Gabriel insisted.

"I... Uh..." Carl Started.

"Good," Gabriel said. He put his foot in one holster and hoisted himself up onto the horse. "Now, I have to ride."

With Carl watching, Gabriel kicked the horse and rode off into the distance.

"Gabriel! Don't you leave..." Anna started to say. But stopped when she realized he already was gone.

"No worries, Anna, he will be back," Carl stated cheerfully. "Come inside you go." He gave her a slight push back towards the door.

"He better come back," Anna huffed as Carl knudged her inside the church.
