A\N: Tommy's a good guy. I figure he'd be worried about morals. (By the way, this might be my last oneshot for a while. Mom's taking over the computer for the next few days.)
He felt like a monster.
They were just kids. What right did he have to send them into battle? Oh, he might be a good Ranger, but what right did any adult have to send a kid to their death?
And what if they died? Tactless Conner, or genius Ethan, or Goth batling Kira?
He would die too. He would kill himself, or…or…or do something. Because he was just a monster.
He'd already put Kira in harm's way. Oh, they'd been the ones to steal the gems, but they didn't know any better. You don't give three-year-olds razor blades to play with. And Mesegog would gladly have killed Kira, or tortured her until she was a broken shell.
Sometimes he thought she knew that. That she was aware of the danger she faced. But it just made this worse.
They were kids. And as they came downstairs, he swore he'd make it up to them. Somehow, he would repay them for this betrayal.
After all, he couldn't live with himself if he didn't.
