A/N: I must give credit where credit is rightfully due. This one-shot, that's all I think it will be, was originally, I think, thought up by Foxhiei. If you ever have time read their stories, they're excellent!

Disclaimer: I don't own any one from Yu-Yu Hakusho, if I did this is what would happen…

Shiori

Mother…Shiori… I know how hard this will be for you, but I have to tell you before they do. They will tell you my last words and though they will seem unreal, it is the truth. Mother, believe them. Hear what they have to say. I am dead now, but even though I am gone in this form; I am still here with you. I love you, and I always will, mother.

They will explain my past, as the Yoko I once was. They will tell you everything I asked them to. Mother, believe them, please. They will tell you that I am gone, that I will never come back, and they are right. The dead cannot walk the earth, but if I could, I would always stay by your side.

It may sound like I used you, mother, but it isn't true. I loved you, so I decided to stay with you. I didn't want to leave, but I had no choice.

"Kurama," a young girl said, "we have to go now."

"Good bye, mother," Kurama said, leaning forward and kissing the sleeping woman on the cheek. He seemed to frown when she shivered away from the kiss. "Alright, Botan, let's go."

"Kurama…."

"… is dead, Ms. Minamino, I'm sorry," Yusuke told the exhausted woman.

She sat there, as if frozen in time, watching the floor.

"Ms. Minamino?" Kuwabara asked, standing behind the one with black hair.

A sole tear fell from that stare.

"Why?" she asked

"We don't know," the black haired teenager said.

Another tear followed the earlier one.

"How"

"You don't need to know that," it was a short demon who spoke this time.

More tears began to flow.

"Ms. Minamino," Kuwabara sighed.

"We should leave now," Hiei began to walk towards the door.

She wanted them to stay but her words were caught in her throat, and when she looked up, she was the only one in the room.

The next thing she saw was the roof of a hospital, and even that was gloomy and somber.

"Hey, Doc. what's wrong with her?" Yusuke asked, just hearing about the news.

"For some reason, her illness has returned. Are you her son?"

"…. No, no, I'm not…"

This time, though, the tears never came as the line went flat…

Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when September ends

Like my father's come to pass
Seven years has gone so fast
Wake me up when September ends

Here comes the rain again
Falling from the stars

Drenched in my pain again
Becoming who we are

As my memory rests
But never forgets what I lost

Wake me up when September ends

Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when September ends

Ring out the bells again
Like we did when spring began

Wake me up when September ends

Here comes the rain again
Falling from the stars

Drenched in my pain again
Becoming who we are

As my memory rests
But never forgets what I lost

Wake me up when September ends

Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when September ends

Like my father's come to pass
Twenty years has gone so fast
Wake me up when September ends

Wake me up when September ends
Wake me up when September ends
