She curled herself into his side, their legs entwined under the sheets, pressed up close against him, molding to fit each curve and plane of his body. Her fingers traced light circles across his chest, dancing back and forth with no rhythm or pattern. Her breathing had fallen into sync with his own as they lay together in the dark of his flat. His fingers brushed up under the edge of her top, rubbing soft circles into her hip with his thumb. She lifted her head off his shoulder and gazed up at him under long lashes. He smiled, reaching a hand to stroke her cheek, a touch so light it seemed dreamlike.

"What are you thinking about?" Simon asked softly, the husky sleepiness of his voice giving her chills.

"You," Alisha replied, taking his hand and lacing their fingers together. "Us." His eyes, the lightest shade of blue she had ever seen, still as breathtaking as they had been when she first noticed them, reallynoticed them, searched her face for a hint at what she wasn't saying. She tucked her head back into the crook of his neck and smiled down at their intertwined fingers, resting across his chest.

"Kelly did the whole, time-jumping thing, yeah?" she finally continued, her cheek pressed into his shoulder. She felt the slight nod of his head against her own. "So, she ended up in a completely alternate universe, one where the Nazis won the war?" Again, he nodded. "Well, she said that in this…universe, she still had an ASBO, but none of the rest of us did. I was just thinking…" She paused, brushing her thumb against the back of his hand.

"What?" Simon whispered into her curls. She bit her lip and let out a breath, trying to make sense of all the thoughts in her mind, struggling to be heard.

"In this alternate timeline, I was a secretary, and you were a soldier. We didn't have community service to bring us together. There probably wasn't even a Superhoodie, since you didn't need to save us. I don't even know if we had our powers." Alisha spoke slowly, letting the words settle. "Even without all those things, we still ended up together." She slowly pulled her head back to look up at him. He was gazing at her with an expression of adoration, his eyes soft and shining even in the darkness of his flat, a slight smile painted warmly across his lips.

"This may sound silly," she laughed, her eyes brushing over his face, following the curve of his jaw, the slight parting of his lips, the ridge of his nose. "I think it's destiny; you and me." He broke into an even wider smile and lowered his face to hers, one arm curled around her waist pulling her closer to him, the other reaching up to cradle her head, tangling gently in her hair. His nose brushed against her cheek, pale skin on dark, blue eyes staring intensely into green. He kissed her, the meeting of their lips sending shivers down Alisha's spine. The slow and tender way he explored her mouth stole her breath, and her fingers knotted in the soft cotton of his shirt. She held him closer until there was no separation between where one of them began and the other ended. His tongue traced the tender curve of her bottom lip as he pulled back, keeping their foreheads pressed together, not daring to break the connection they shared.

"Destiny," he whispered in agreement.
