I felt beaten and broken, which I was.

It was a bad hunt, and here I was sitting along the side walk of an empty alley as I panted. God, I hated vampires. I felt myself wince as I moved my leg. I had gotten cut pretty badly, attacked with my own weapon.. definitely not my finest moment. I prayed a silent prayer that if there was anybody listening that this pain would go away so I could quickly get back to my motel room and get the hell out of this town.

I closed my eyes as I rested my head back against the building, feeling myself start to get woozy as I continued to bleed out. I didn't wanna die, not like this. I heard a fluttering but couldn't manage to turn my head as I heard the foot steps.

I winced once again as I looked up, hoping that whoever it was would just leave me alone to die in peace and not cause me any more trouble.

It was a man in a beige trench coat, and he was looking down at me with a frown. I felt my eyes start to roll before he placed two fingers against my forehead. I felt myself frown as I discovered the pain had stopped. I glanced down at my leg to see that the very large gash on it was gone. I blinked in shock, feeling my mouth go dry. I licked my lips before glancing back up at the man as my eyes grew large.

This was not happening. this wasn't possible. The man above me had out his hand out towards me, giving me a nod of his head as he saw my hesitance. "All is well." he muttered softly, making me grab his hand. He gently pulled me upwards. I was still in shock, I was minutes away from dying, and here I am standing perfectly okay. "H-how?" I mumbled, before shaking my head. "What are you?" I asked, looking into his blue eyes.

"One of the good guys, Valerie." he answered cryptically, making me frown. I wanted to throw up, this guy knew my name and saved me from dying. I looked down at my perfectly healed leg, before looking up to demand answers.

But he was gone. I turned around quickly, in every direction trying to spot him but he had vanished into thin air. Leaving me alone in a darken alley with so many unanswered questions. "Thank you." I mumbled, praying that he heard me.
