Disclaimer: Don't own Music, Don't own Ideas. Do own particular arrangement of words, and the Idea of making an Irish Drinking Song(tm) about Slayers.

Background: In the Slayers Universe, powerful Magicians are titled by the color of their robes. Rezo the Red is the only example in the Anime, but in the Novels, Halciform and Lina (among others) are also given colors: White and Pink, respectively. Now Lina doesn't like being called 'Lina the Pink,' but I don't care, since on this side of the fourth wall* there is very little danger of her being able to hit me with a Dragu Slave.

My father likes Irish Folk Music (dunno what else to call it), which makes sense, since his side of the family has a significant amount of Irish Heritage. Anyway, there's a song on one of his CDs called 'Lily the Pink;' It shouldn't take a genius to figure out what connections got made and where.

So, without further ado, in [slightly belated] honor of St Patrick's Day:

Lina the Pink

(To the tune of 'Lily the Pink,' as performed by The Irish Rovers)

We'll drink a drink a drink

To Lina the Pink the Pink the Pink

The terror of the Human Race

She fought villains and monsters

With her terrible powers

And was victorious in every case!

Well here's a story

That can never be boring,

It's a little bit silly and a little bit sad

Of Lina the Pink and

Her great magical powers

And how she drove the whole world mad.

There was once a Black Dragon

Who got out of its wagon

And it terrorized the town;

So the town called on Lina,

And, though she beat the monster,

Nothing's left but a hole in the ground!

We'll drink a drink a drink

To Lina the Pink the Pink the Pink

The terror of the Human Race

She fought villains and monsters

With her terrible powers

And was victorious in every case!

The Red Priest Rezo

Was supposed to be dead, though

He was in truth alive and well,

But he revived the Dark Lord

Ruby-Eye Shabranigdo,

So Lina sent them both to hell!

Now Rezo's Copy

Was made a little bit sloppy

So it was totally insane;

So to try and beat Lina

It freed Zanaffar's power

But Lina sealed them up again!

We'll drink a drink a drink

To Lina the Pink the Pink the Pink

The terror of the Human Race

She fought villains and monsters

With her terrible powers

And was victorious in every case!

Well Phibrizzo Hellmaster

He told Lina to cast her

Most deadly spell, the Giga Slave;

He hoped that it would plunge

The whole world into Chaos,

But it just sent him to his grave!

For parts unknown

Lina then departed,

In all the towns the bells did ring;

Away with her she took her

Fearsome magical powers,

Listen, hear the people sing!

We'll... we'll... we'll...

Drink a drink a drink

To Lina the Pink the Pink the Pink

The terror of the Human Race

She fought villains and monsters

With her terrible powers

And was victorious in every case!

* The fourth wall, for any who don't know, is the intangible barrier between characters in a story (I first saw it used in reference to an online comic strip) and the readers/viewers. It is referred to as being 'broken' every time a character addresses the audience directly (in apparent knowledge that they are there, soliloquies probably don't count) and sometimes when they mention being in a comic/ story /cartoon / movie/ play.
