The Woes of Ginny Weasley

Disclaimer: The ghost of Christmas future came to warn me what would happen if I claimed these characters as my own…..shudders …..NOT THE JELLO! NOOOO!

A/N: Feeling kind of depressed now that school's out, so I figured I'd write something to amuse me.

Summary: Ginny's mother summons her home for a simple family and fun filled Christmas. But between Harry's unexpected visit, Fred and George, and a couple of..."events", let's just say that nothing at the Weasley's is ever simple.

Dear Diary:

So, just a few more days until Christmas, and frankly, I'm a little nervous about it. For the first time since the war ended, everybody will be together. Under one roof. By everybody, I mean my family. And their families. And girlfriends. And friends.

"Ginny? Ginny! GINNY!" I jumped a foot off my bed, knocking my journal off of it in the process. That was not a tone of voice to question. I flew out my bedroom, fear seizing hold of me. What had Mum so worked up? Oh my god! Someone must be hurt! I skidded to a stop in front of the fire, Mum's face glaring at me.

"Ginny Weasley! Did you not here me the first time I called you?"

All thoughts of disaster dissolved from my mind, slowly being replaced with angry ones. "Yes Mum! I heard you!"

"Well, Why didn't you come then?"

"I was….busy?"

Mum glowered at me. One of those few looks that still makes me cower with fear. "You're not coming to the Burrow!"

"Wha – ?"

"I just got your owl, Why aren't you coming to the Burrow for Christmas!"

Oh, yeah, I'd forgotten I sent that. Oops.

"Oh, er… Yeah. I kinda had plans already." I am a liar.

"Oh?" Mum's voice grew dangerously quiet. "With whom?"

"Um….Luna….and….uh,…Neville. Yeah, they, uh, said they wanted to set me up with somebody" A big fat liar.

"And what, may I ask will you be doing?"

"Ummm……hanging…..out?" Run while you can Ginny!

"Ginny Weasley! The entire Family will be at the house all Christmas weekend, and you, as my youngest child, and only daughter, will be there!"

"But Mum! I'm—"

"Yes, I'm perfectly aware that you're 'twenty years old and you own person' but this is not an option! Do I make myself clear!"

Damn. "Yes Mum."

"Good. Then I'll see you tomorrow."

"Tomorrow? As in Saturday? But nobody will be there until Monday!"

"Yes, but you will be helping me clean the house. All your brothers seem to have prior obligations…"

"But—"

"Thank you dear."

And with that, her mother's face disappeared from the fire. Ginny groaned.

"This is going to be one long Holiday."
