Kyouya waited ever so anxiously at the corridor of the emergency room. Why can't he be inside and support Ichigo? She was about to give birth soon after all. But he knew very well that Ichigo is really sick. The doctors have to run some tests to be able to tell if Ichigo would survive the labor.
The emergency room's door opened and Kyouya's face lightened upon seeing the doctor come out.
"Kyouya-kun…" The doctor began, she knew Kyouya quite well. The hospital is Ootori's property after all.
"Can I see her now?" Kyouya asked calmly even though he was trembling. The doctor fixed her glasses and asked Kyouya to sit down. The tall man's shoulders fell. He can't bear to hear what the doctor will say. He clenched his fists tightly and mustered all that he can to be able to speak.
"What has happened Shimizu-sensei?"
"I think you're quite aware of Ichigo-san's illness. Sadly, she and the baby won't be able to live through the actual delivery." She explained.
Kyouya felt all the strength leave his body. He became very teary.
"However, there's good news."
He listened as best as he could.
"One of them may be saved. If you favor Ichigo-san's life, the baby will die. If you allow the baby to live, with Ichigo's condition, she will not be able to go through it and live. You and your wife have less than 72 hours to decide what to do before her water breaks." Shimizu finished.
He can barely stand up. But he managed to walk and say, "I'll go get some air." then left.
