Professor Charles Xavier stood on the front steps of the school he founded and looked over the beauty of his surroundings. The marvelous spring breeze swept gently through his white collared shirt as he began walking wherever his feet would lead him.

He knew every aspect of the area incasing his mansion residence but never fully enjoyed it for what it was, a haven. A beautiful safety that would always be there for him and his students. As he put one foot in front of the other, with help from his walking cane, he admired the neatly kept grass to either side of the stone pathway. He relished in the sparse clouds overhead that signified the end of winter and the genuine loveliness of having a day of peaceful tranquility.

Finding that his feet led him to the boat house pond on the outskirts of the grounds he gathered a few stones and took a seat facing the stream. Charles took a few moments to appreciate the placid undisturbed water before casting the first of several stones into the clear water. The ripples slowly extended its reach to every corner of the pond before settling down again.

"Enjoying yourself, Charles." The voice startled him out of his dream like trance as he whirled around to see who addressed him. "May I join you." Ororo said leaning against the tree behind him.

"Certainly, my child." He said patting on the grass next to him. "Your company is always welcome." He watched as she pulled herself from the shade of the tree and lay down on her stomach facing the river with her bare feet in the air. They sat quietly in each other's company in silent admiration of their peaceful surroundings. The silence was broken as Charles cast another stone into the pond bringing forth the ripples he was staring at earlier.

"So how do you like being able to walk again?" Her question brought back a certain nostalgia, as if he was never unable to walk in the first place.

"There are no words." He said after a while of trying to place his feelings. He picked up another stone from the pile next to him and tried skipping it across the water.

"Two skips. Not bad," Ororo smiled and held out her open hand. "Let me try."

Charles handed her one of the smoother rocks and watched as she rose to her feet and gracefully side-armed the stone across the pond. Four solid bounces before sinking into the clear water. She remained on her feet looking into the water as it returned to a calm state. She gave a slight giggle as she turned to Charles who was getting ready to throw another stone. "Think I can find it?"

"Your rock?" He asked confused of her meaning but quickly found his answer when she picked herself high above the ground on a gust of wind and spiraled down into the center of the pond. She emerged from the water laughing with excitement of the adrenaline rush as she called for him to join her in the water.

"I think I'll stay dry, thank you." He politely denied her request as he layed his head back in the grass and stared into the beautiful blue sky. He smiled as he listened to Ororo pull drenched body out of the water and the birds chirping overhead. "There are no words."
