The Date Barter

"They figured out how to stop the hallucinations," Caroline blurted out, hoping that would stop Klaus from going on a rampage.
He slowly turned around and said, "Okay, you have 10 seconds to tell me."
Caroline gulped and said quickly, "Stefan texted me that we need to kill a vampire. We can just find some creep, turn him, and then kill him."
"No, that will take too long. Elena was already suicidal pre-vampire, these hallucinations will only hurry the process," Klaus said.
"Well, what do you suggest then?" she asked.
"I'd be willing to sacrifice Tyler," Klaus said with a wicked grin.
"Not funny," Caroline said crossing her arms.
"It was just a suggestion," he said nonchalantly.
Caroline ignored his comment and asked, "What about your other hybrids? Don't you have one you'd be willing to sacrifice to save Elena?"
"Now, hold on a minute, love. We both know my hybrids are an endangered species," Klaus answered.
Caroline retorted, "But you just suggested Tyler."
"Ah, well, Tyler is a different matter. He being unsired and all," he replied.
"Your hybrid, Chris, is unsired too. He's the one who helped Stefan," Caroline said getting desperate.
Klaus stood in silence thinking about her suggestion. Chris did sound like the perfect candidate considering he did just betray him. But he also couldn't afford to lose many more hybrids. Not until Elena was cured.
"If I gave up my hybrid, what would I get in return?" he asked.
"Excuse me?" Caroline asked.
Klaus repeated, "If I gave up my hybrid, what would I get in return?"
"You mean besides saving Elena?" she asked.
"Yes. I think I'd deserve something for your guys' gratitude," he answered.
"What do you want?" an exasperated Caroline asked.
Klaus answered, "I want to go on a date with you. An official date where we dress up, and eat a meal together."
Caroline blinked. She couldn't believe what she just heard. Klaus wanted to go on a date with her in exchange for sacrificing his hybrid. She had always known that he fancied her. They flirted with each other all the time, but she never thought he wanted to take things to the next level.
"Fine. You can be my date to the Miss Mystic Falls Pageant. There will dancing, drinking, and dinner. Will that suffice?" Caroline asked.
Klaus smiled and said, "That sounds positively delightful. You've got yourself a deal, love."
"Great. Let's go save Elena now," she replied.
"No, you should go home. Leave the blood and violence to me," Klaus said and then he was gone.
"What have I gotten myself into?" Caroline asked herself.
