I know that I should be working on my two other stories, but this just kinda popped into my head. I needed some romance after the 100th episode of Bones fiasco. Plus, there was a lack of Tiva in the last episode. I hope you enjoy. Cute little one-shot to keep you in spirits.
Tony and Ziva were on their way out from the bar. The team had been celebrating the end of a long and difficult case. And the gray clouds that had been sitting heavily in the sky hadn't helped much either. Also, Abby had been out sick, so they called in a replacement who had no idea what they were doing. Sometime it sucks to be a federal agent.
As they were about to part ways, those gray clouds finally burst. Everyone was scrambling to get to their cars. Tony managed to yell to Ziva over the boom of thunder.
"I don't think anybody should be driving in this weather. My apartment is closer to here than yours"
Ziva nodded.
They got into Tony's parking space and Tony turned to Ziva.
"Okay, here's what we do, we get out of this car and run as fast as we can"
Ziva smiled, "Okay"
"On the count of three, ready? One…two…three. Go."
They ran really fast, holding hands through the downpour. They ran all the way up to Tony's apartment.
Once inside, they both panted heavily. Tony was laughing.
Ziva was smiling broadly.
Ziva then looked down at his hand in hers.
She said, "Tony you can let go of my hand now"
What she really meant to say was "Please don't let go. Not now, not ever"
But as strong as Ziva claimed to be, she wasn't strong enough to say those words.
It was something she fought with constantly.
Tony replied, "What if I don't want to?" with a cocky grin on his face.
Ziva inhaled sharply. This was her moment.
She chickened out.
"Tony you are about to cross a very dangerous line"
Tony tilted his head, the cocky grin still on his face.
"Well that particular line has always been a little blurry"
There are some moments that go by unnoticed in the world.
No one even notices they happen.
But the people they happen to will never forget it.
As Tony bent down to kiss Ziva on the lips, something extraordinary happened.
This is what people will never forget.
The moment Tony's lips met Ziva's, the brightest flash of lightning lit up the sky.
Perhaps it was Mother Nature's way of celebrating a milestone in a relationship.
Perhaps it was a coincidence.
But they don't believe in coincidences.
