Snow and ice covered the city of Dimmsdale as many of the residents were outside shoveling out from last nights winter storm of the season. Timmy's fairly obsessed teacher Denzel Crocker was even out in his own driveway with a shovel in one of his hands.
"What's this, a snow day on a Monday in January? This could only be the work of Turner and his...FAIRY GODPARENTS!" Mr. Crocker shouted out, his sudden outburst caused all the snow on the roof of his house to collapse right on top of him.
"Denzel, quit talking about your stupid obsession with fairies. Shovel the driveway like I told you!" His mother called out from the open window.
"Stop telling me what to do, mother! I'm not a child anymore!" He barked after he popped up from the snow that now blocked the doorway.
"Well, you're certainly acting like one. Dig out the doorway too while you're at it. Oh, and don't cause anymore avalanches." She then added before she pulled the window shut.
The middle aged teacher muttered something under his breath before grabbing his shovel, and began scooping up the snow. Away from him inside the Turner house, Timmy and Sparky Turner were sleeping soundly. Unknown to the two best friends, Cosmo poofed into a green rooster and decided to wake them up.
"Rise and shine, Timmy! It's time for another boring school day! You don't wanna be late!"
At the sound of his fairy godfather's voice, Timmy and Sparky awoken with a jolt, screaming from their unpleasant wake up call.
"Cosmo, what the heck?! Can't you wake us up normally without making too much noise?" His godchild complained, both he and Sparky looking rather annoyed and a little cranky.
"Yeah, I was in the middle of a great dream where Peaches and I ate spaghetti at a fancy restaurant. It was a little strange since I can't really eat pasta because of my allergies. Or were we watching a movie about dogs and pasta?" Sparky scratched at his head with a puzzled look.
"Nope, that would just take the fun out of it for me. That's why I unplugged your alarm clock this morning so I could wake you up instead, duh!"
Timmy just shook his head at Cosmo's words, crawled out of bed, and then walked over towards his bedroom window. His eyes widening at the sight of snowflakes floating around in the breeze. He opens it up where a pile of snow falls on top of him.
"Wow, that's an awful lot of snow. Wait a minute."
"Oh, Timmy!" A voice suddenly rang out from behind the boy's bedroom door, putting Timmy on high alert. Right on cue.
"Guys, I wish all the snow was gone so my dad doesn't see it!"
Sparky and Cosmo's wands lit up as they quickly poof the snow drift away so Timmy's father wouldn't see all the snow in his room. Cosmo changed into a cat, and hid beneath Timmy's bed until the coast was clear.
"Good news, son. You don't have any school today, and I don't have work because of all the snow outside! Yes, snow day!" Timmy's Dad threw a fist up in the air before he ran off to tell his wife all about it.
When his dad had left, Timmy flicked on the TV to check the forecast just as Cosmo came out from his hiding spot.
"Good morning, Dimmsdale! This is Chet Ubetcha with a special news report. A fierce snowstorm has struck the town overnight, which means that all schools and businesses will be closed for today."
Timmy turned off the television and faces Sparky and Cosmo with a big grin on his face.
"Did you hear that, you guys? No school."
"Yeah, you know what that means?"
All three of them jumped up into the air suddenly filled with excitement and full of energy.
"SNOW DAY!"
"I should tell Wanda, Poof, and Chloe!" Cosmo replied with a grin then opened up the window.
"Wanda, Poof, Chloe, Wake up! There's no school!"
"Keep it down, Cosmo! You don't wanna wake up the whole street! Just poof over there to tell them the good news, and close the window before we all freeze to death." Timmy told him sternly while Sparky chuckled at Cosmo's stupidity.
"Sorry, Timmy." Cosmo apologized as he shut the window. He raises his wand to poof up a megaphone instead.
"I have an even better idea! See ya later!"
"I guess it's just you and me for breakfast then, Sparky. Let's go have something to eat before we head out. We can't spend the whole day together on an empty stomach."
Sparky poofed himself into his chef hat and apron. "I'll cook us both breakfast, Timmy! How about toast with some bacon and eggs? Or I can make us a platter of different types of yummy food."
Timmy laughed at his loyal companion before they both went downstairs.
"Alright, buddy. Sounds good to me."
After breakfast Sparky and Timmy dressed up in their blue and pink winter gear, and headed outside into the snow to play. Meanwhile, Chloe Carmichael was giving out free samples of hot chocolate to the other children. Cosmo, Wanda, and Poof sat beside her stand disguised as dogs.
Cosmo was enjoying his hot chocolate when he suddenly lost his grip on his mug after the hot beverage burned his tongue, spilling it all over his green winter jacket and fur with a yelp.
"Gah! hot, hot!"
Wanda rolled her magenta eyes at her daffy husband's antics, while Poof carefully blew on his own hot chocolate before he took a sip from his little mug with a sigh of relief.
"Thanks for the hot chocolate, Chloe. I feel all warm and cozy already."
"No problem, Poof. Nothing like a nice cup of hot chocolate to keep you warm on a cold winters day." She chirped and handed a cup to each of Timmy's friends with a cheerful smile.
"Thanks, Chloe. We're off to enjoy our snow day, so see you later." Chester and A.J. smiled before they left to go build snow forts, have a snowball fight, and go snowboarding with the others.
"You're welcome. Have fun, guys."
"I have to agree with you on that, Chloe. That would of been a much better way to wake up then have someone yell at you through a megaphone." Wanda responded in annoyance, narrowing her eyes at Cosmo. He whistled and smiled sheepishly at her before he drank whatever was left over in his mug.
"Yeah, it was definitely a rude awakening that's for sure. Is that the way Cosmo always wakes you guys up in the mornings?" The blonde asked her fairy godmother while she poured up some hot chocolate for both of them.
"Ugh, sometimes. Sweetie, that's just Cosmo's way of saying good morning to you. But at least a warm cup of hot chocolate won't give you an earache."
Back at the Turner house, Timmy and Sparky were in the middle of a huge snowball fight in the front yard. It was going well until Sparky accidentally broken the living room window, and as a punishment from Timmy's parents they had to shovel the whole driveway. But luckily for them they were still able to go enjoy the rest of the winter wonderland.
They rode down the biggest hill in the city on their sled for a couple of rounds, drove around town together in Sparky's van, and then went to the ice skating rink. The two of them having a blast together while they enjoyed their winter activities.
Finally, they decided to stop by Chloe's stand for some delicious hot chocolate before they went back inside to warm up by the fire so they wouldn't pick up an illness from the cold weather. When nightfall came they both watched a movie with some popcorn before going to bed.
"Today sure was fun, huh? Except for when we both had to shovel the driveway after I accidentally broke the living room window during our snowball fight. I hope we get to do it all over again tomorrow. Well, not the breaking a window part."
Timmy laughed at Sparky's mishap from earlier that same day. "Me too, Sparky. It sure was fun hanging out with you."
Sparky yawned and nuzzled up against Timmy as he lay next to his best friend in the whole world. Now feeling completely exhausted from their snowy adventure.
"I also hope we'll remain best friends forever and always. You think we will, Timmy?"
Timmy smiled and wrapped his arms around Sparky for a snuggle before turning out the light for a good nights sleep.
"Absolutely, buddy. Just like my fairies and all of my other friends, you'll always be my best friend forever and ever."
