"Honestly Leonard," complained Dr. Penny Hofstadter,Psy.D, unlocking the door as they returned home from their weekly couple's night, "I've asked you a hundred times not to let me get into that Nature vs. Nurture argument with Amy. Neither of us is going to change the other's mind. It's pointless to keep having the same argument over and over again."
"Really,' quizzed her husband, "Does that mean we can stop arguing over which way the toilet paper should hang?"
"Ha, ha"
"Honey, I tried to stop you but you know how you are once you get going. You didn't even hear me trying to change the subject."
Cooper-Fowler Residence, Pasadena, CA 2035
"Sheldon," stated Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler, returning home from couple's night, "I've requested that you assist me in avoiding the Nature vs. Nurture debate with Penny many times—"
"One hundred and seventeen to be precise." interjected her husband.
"Thank you, however, the fact remains that you once again allowed me to engage in heated debate with my bestie. Given Penny's background in psychology and mine in neurobiology, reaching a mutually agreeable resolution to the debate is improbable and further discussion is useless."
"Agreed, but I just find it such a delight to hear you logically counter her touchy-feely arguments."
"Humph."
What Leonard and Sheldon would never confess to their wives was the one thing they agreed with each other on even more strongly than "Original Series over TNG but Picard over Kirk"
Watching their wives engage in heated intellectual debate….was really hot.
