This is my first Fanfiction
I made this story because I am frustrated with all the Zutara crap(no offense) I think Katara does like Zuko for a while but not the other way around at all because honestly Katara is an insufferable brat. So I came up with this, I know it is not the best but I felt like giving it a shot. This is set five years after the war's end.
Mai sure is lucky.
The group has gathered today in honor of Princess Kezzi's* birth. She's adorable with a soft tuft of dark brown hair, golden eyes that seem to be on fire themselves, and a big grin that lights up the room, brighter than the sun. I see a lot of resemblance between her and the few childhood pictures of her father that I have seen. I can tell she will make the perfect princess.
Her two year old brother, Kazuo*, is trying to get a better look. His gold eyes shine with the toddler's ever growing frustration and his small coal black ponytail swinging about as moves around the cooing adults. All gathered around the newborn held in her mother's arms, her father standing close with a hand on his wife's shoulder. He gazes at his child with pride and love.
I know he has never thought of me as more than an ally, I know because I cowardly sent Toph (the human lie detector) in to ask him. But I still had daydreams of being with the formerly banished prince. The daydreams die though every time I think of or see the look on his face when he looks at Mai. I am lucky that I am engaged to Aang. Sure he still is childish most of the time, especially now that he can relax a little without feeling guilty, but he has his moments of maturity and occasionally wisdom. Which is expected of the Avatar, yes I am lucky to be with him. And Mai sure is lucky too.
PS The name Kazuo means peace and Kezzi is a name a read in a book and I always thought it was adorable for a little girl, plus they both follow that unspoken rule that most fire nation names have a z in it
