(: Hey there. This is my first story on fanfic. I'm pretty psyched. JJ/Reid romance later on, rated PG. Feel free to comment freely! Criticism is appreciated!
- Ellie,
"So, I mean .. I don't know how to tell you this JJ, I've been meaning to say this for a while. I-" Dr. Spencer Reid's words were sharply cut off. He whipped his head around to see JJ's eyes widen with fear. The car they sat so comfortably in flipped wildly, rolling down the steep hill. The night engulfed the FBI agents as the car continued rolling, smashing into trees along the way. Finally, it came to a halt, squished between two trees that towered above the car.
He looked at JJ, his hazel eyes wide. Spencer's heart pounded in his chest. It went from the loving pounding to the painful, horrific pounding. He wished he could go back, and wait until they got back to Quantico. Dr. Reid's hazel eyes looked over her limp body. He hung, upside down, suspended by his seat belt. JJ wasn't so lucky. Her blonde hair was spotted with blood and dirt from the impact. Her black v-neck sweater was torn and bloody. The rise and fall of her chest had slowed within the past few minutes Spencer had been watching her.
"I-I didn't mean to Jennifer. I'm so .. I'm so sorry." He felt tears well in his eyes. That wasn't going to help him now, or JJ. Reid reached for his phone out of his pocket. The screen was cracked from when his seatbelt had tightened. That didn't matter though, he didn't need the screen. This number was written into his heart.
"Hotch. It's me. I've done something .. I didn't-" Tears began dripping along his face. Up to his forehead due to the reverse in gravity.
"Reid. Calm down and talk to me." Reid sucked in a deep breath and began explaining to Hotch.
"I was talking to her .. about really important stuff. I wasn't paying attention. I crashed. She's not moving. Hotch .. help her. Help her." He began to cry again, his hazel eyes covered in sheets of liquid glass. Tears ran along his face.
"Reid. We're turning the jet around. We'll be there as soon as we can."
"That's not fast enough Hotch .. it's not fast enough." He unbuckled his seatbelt, falling onto his head. Reid turned over, shaking his head.
"Then call 911! We can't doing anything from up in the air." Hotch's words were like ice down Reid's spine. He sat still, watching JJ's chest slowly rise and fall, her breathing getting shallower, until it barely moved. Spencer close his phone, tossing it behind him. He crawled over to JJ, grasping onto her hand. Reid squeezed it gently.
"You'll make it through this Jennifer. I promise you. You're Jennifer Jareau, the strongest woman I know. You'll make it though. I promise .. I promise." His words faded into the darkness as the night swallowed them into the abyss of death.
