This is the original poem which I translated into Filipino as 'Liwanag ng Apoy'. I guess all those English-speaking SesshKik people also need to get a glimpse of that poem of mine. I do not own Inuyasha, so please don't sue me!
Kikyou's POV; she loves Sesshoumaru, and he loves her as well, but amidst all the happiness, there may still be some bitterness left in loving.
Firelight
By Nefertili
You are the firelight of my eyes,
Shining, leaping in freedom,
Held not by the chains of the earth,
Sovereign amidst limitations,
Burning in your radiance,
Burning my heart,
Within the fire of your love.
You bring the firelight to my eyes.
Once I strayed in the dark,
Alone, cold, sorrowing.
Falling under unseen obstacles,
I wept in anguish,
And wondered if there would ever be
A light beyond the blackness,
Beyond the deathly void,
To comfort a heart,
Whose one dearest wish,
Is to love and be loved.
You brought light to my soul,
When all the lamps of hope
Were dimmed and extinguished,
You came to me, unforeseen.
You led me away from the unknown,
The confusion and the pain,
Of the utter nothingness,
And grief of aloneness.
You are the firelight of my eyes,
But I must understand…
I must learn to accept…
A truth that I cannot run from:
Though warm, you may be,
And more beautiful than the purest rose,
Love, the thorny blossom,
You shared to me at a price.
You brought the firelight to my eyes,
But you knew not of the pain,
The distress you unconsciously bring.
I love you, but love is claimed bittersweet.
Though you set my heart afire,
Alas, the bitterness of longing!
Your flame heals, but is, at the same time,
A congealer of the spirit,
Chilling my heart,
With endless yearning.
Yet still you brought light to my soul,
And I am eager to suffer once more,
For you, my firelight,
No matter what the cost.
I will always love you…
Shining, leaping in freedom,
Held not by the chains of the earth,
Sovereign amidst limitations,
Burning in your radiance,
Burning my heart,
Within the fire of your love.
