Hello friends,

I have recently started watching/reading My Hero Academia and I'm just obsessed! I came up with this idea pretty quickly and it just sat heavily on my mine, therefore I have just run with it, so hopefully it's at least semi-decent!

Let me know what you think...

I do not own My Hero Academia and the characters, just my own O.C's.

Prologue

It was about 10:45pm on a hot Thursday night when the sound of heavy footfall could be heard slamming down the apartment block steps, a young man shouting angrily and tearfully down a phone that could almost be heard for miles. His voice echoed down the hallways and across the courtyard to the opposite block making a few lights turn on in shock, the occupants throwing their windows open to be nosey and try to locate where the bellowing sound was coming from. Yet the young mad had wasted no time in sprinted from the building and into the streets beyond the apartment complex, leaving behind nothing but the sound of windows closing back up and crickets slowly setting back off again.

Everyone in the block had been thoroughly startled, especially an elderly lady in apartment block 6-C. She poked her head out of her door after hearing a loud clatter from the apartment next to her own, it had sounded like furniture being slammed about and when she then heard shouting and bellowing she couldn't help but let the worry sink into her bones. Upon seeing her neighbours door left ajar, she ventured closer to get a look.

"Hello?" She called gently. Nothing in reply.

She pushed on and peeked her head through the door. She had always loved her neighbour. He was a sweet young man, who always offered to help her with her bags if they looked particularly heavy. There were times where he had invited her in for tea and he had completely chatted her ear off, but she was welcome for it and she knew that he knew too. After she had lost her husband there weren't occasions where she would chat to someone so freely, but her neighbour was just too kind and warm to not chat too. He was no trouble, always keeping quiet and never having any parties like the young tenants in the block across from theirs always did. He was becoming a fine Hero, and he delighted in popping in with cake and tea to tell her all about his training and missions. She knew that he came over to tell her all about it because he had no parents that he could share his successes with and because he wanted so badly to tell someone and she wanted so badly to have company again. That's why it all seemed strange to her, so she persevered and crept inside the apartment, her slippers shuffling as she did.

"Anyone home? I heard a loud noise?" … still nothing.

All the lights were still on, and the low hum of a tv was playing in the background, she crept down the hallway with her hand leaning against the wall, till she rounded on the tiny kitchen. She knew her way around for all the apartments were set up the same. Upon entering the small kitchen she immediately spotted the stove and rushed over to turn it off. She sighed and turned around to survey the mess.

There was one solitary plate set up before the once hot steaming plates left to turn cold, the cutlery thrown down in haste. There had been a few times when she had invited him round for dinner, the thought of two people sitting and eating alone always made her feel even more lonely, so she would knock on the door and bring her own food around to eat with him. A wooden chair sat upturned on the ground, which must have been the source of the loud clattering she had heard. Yet it was a letter sat opened on a plain wooden table that had been laid out for dinner, a few wet spots where guilty tears had stained it, that caught her attention. She couldn't help herself as she picked it up and read over it.

Dear Oniichan,

I haven't seen you in so long now, I'm scared I don't remember what you look like anymore. I know its not your fault and I'm not trying to make you feel bad. I just miss you. I wanted to put more in this letter to you, but I don't have time. One of the men will be in soon to check up on us.

Otosan has become really very angry. He's put me and Okasan in the apartment in the main house together and he never comes to stay with us. Okasan has been keeping away from me too, she only speaks to me when she really has to. She still hates me, I don't blame her though because I do too.

The only time I leave the main apartment is for my Quirk training with Otosan, he's been getting frustrated with me because I'm not getting good quick enough, he even brings in this friend of his to help sometimes but he's really scary. He makes me call him 'Strings', and he has been teaching me how to grow my quirk. I don't think he's a good man at all. He is always watching with this creepy look and I can see his eyes when I try and sleep at night. I heard him talking with Otosan the other day and they were talking about a job, and something about not letting someone get away this time. I don't know what kind of job it is, but it doesn't sound good Oniichan.

I'm mainly writing because of our maid Nana-chan, she's been looking out for me and she says that she misses you too Oniichan. She's the one that's sent you this letter, she promised to sneak it out and send it for me. You need to come and save Nana-chan, she's too nice and I know that the nasty men outside hurt her, it isn't right and I don't like seeing her so hurt all the time.

There's another envelope in here for you, but I don't want you to read it yet. You'll know when.

I know that you are working to become an amazing Hero but bad things are happening here, you need to come and be Nana-chan's Hero.

I miss you and love you with all my heart,

Mika

The old women worriedly dropped the letter back where she had picked it up from, feeling a sense of guilt that she had read such a private and scary letter. Her Neighbour had never mentioned having a sister and she had never seen a younger girl around, but this must have been why. She let her old eyes scan over the food, spotting another empty envelope on the top showing that he had indeed opened the second letter too, but the old woman couldn't see it on the table. That must have been him rushing through the block, shouting down the phone. He must be off to go and save his little sister, she thought. She hoped beyond hope that he could help her out, it sounded like she was stuck somewhere bad and little children needed to be somewhere loving, not kept locked away.

Feeling completely out of place, she made sure there was nothing else left on that could cause any danger, like the stove, and she turned the lights off and shut the door behind her as she left. Praying that her young neighbour was safe and helping his little sister.
