"What did you say?" a voice asked.

"It's like I said," answered the young novelist.

"What's the catch?" the orange haired teen questioned through narrowed eyes. Shigure stopped, blinked and laughed,

"I assure you, Kyon. There's no trap. You always said that you wanted to be invited to these meetings here at the Sohma Estate."

"Why the sudden change of heart?"

"Maybe Akito-sama's in a Christmas mood?" the dog zodiac smiled. Kyou just scoffed,

"As if."

Kyou was excited to be able to even set foot into the Sohma Estate for holiday meetings. But at the same time, he dreaded meeting with Akito. He didn't know what kind of things, the head of the zodiac was waiting to do to him if he happened to be alone in a hallway or even in a room with him.

"So, you're here too kitten?"

The group minus the brunette turned around to see the Ox standing there with his hands in his pant pockets.

"Is that a surprise to you?" Kyou grounded out. The Ox chuckled as he stood close next to the rat and replied,

"It's very rare to see you come here. Last year, you didn't even want to be here. What made you change?"

The orange haired teen casted his eyes away, finding interest in a nearby bush,

"Nothing in particular."

"I see."

"Well, why don't we all go in and meet up with the other members?" the novelist wondered and everyone entered the estate soundlessly.

When Kyou entered the main dining room, he noticed that Akito wasn't there. He mentally sighed and was about to take a seat when someone hugged him out of the blue. Kyou froze when he realized who it was,

"Ka-Kagura . . ."

"Oh! You don't know how happy I am to see you attending! I thought I'd have to drag you here this year!" the brunette giggled.

Kyou began to say something back when a small clamor of voices from the other room reached his ears. He struggled with Kagura still clinging to his waist over to the other room and froze in place. He didn't know why it was a shock. He knew all along that this was going to happen, but it was just too soon.

Kyou closed his eyes. He didn't want to see the kiss scene taking place. A yank on his arm and he found himself being pressed closely against a firm body and rough lips were planted on his. The cat zodiac opened his eyes wide to see that it was Hatsuharu that had boldly pulled him under the mistletoe. The Ox smirked at him as he drew back,

"What were you doing, screwing your eyes closed for?"

"Th-That's!" Kyou stuttered, feeling his cheeks turn hot with embarrassment.

"If you didn't want me kissing someone else, especially your longtime rival, then all you had to do was claim me for yourself, kitten."

Kyou just opened his mouth and closed it shut with no response. What could he say to that when the stupid cow hit the nail on the head?

"Sh-Shut up! Everyone knows how much you love the rat, so of course I have to stand by and just watch as . . ." Kyou trailed off when every member of the zodiac was now looking at him, waiting for him to reveal his love confession to the cow. Even Kagura was quiet. Now, that scared him.

"Well . . ." Kyou started and everyone listened in.

"Well . . ." Kyou tried again, but before he could explain further, the sound of a maid announcing that Akito was here, had everyone alert and jumbled in fear. But Kyou was glad of the head's presence. It gave him enough time to sort out his feelings for the cow, even if somehow he was confused by it himself.
