Hey guys! Wanted to know if you guys would like this. It's kind of a one-shot mini-arc (am I even using the terms right) and was wondering if you'd like it. The events are placed a bit differentlly than the show and manga, but here it is. It was sitting in my fanfiction notebook for a loooonnng while so I wanted to publish it! Anyways, hope you like this, any plot suggestions? Any song requests? Anything at all, just to make you review. Hope you like...

"Hey Kid," Soul rest her left elbow softly on Kid's shoulder. She leaned in close to whisper in the Shinigami's ear. "You wanna be my Meister tonight?"
Kid figited as his face heated up. "S-soul," he stuttered. "W-wha?" This was certainly unexpected.
Ever since the accident, Soul had been acting all sorts of odd lately, but this was by far the weirdest yet.
It was actually quite comical, when Soul and Maka arrived from one of their latest missions, both looking undoubtedly sullen. At first inspection, no one would expect something was different. That is, until one looked at the pair closely...
"And so Tsubaki was all like—," said Black*Star as went on about their latest mission. Their latest failed mission. " 'We're more like falling stars,' and I was all: 'You're going to laugh so hard you'll be the falling star!'" He crossed his arms and laughed heartily, the hallway echoing with his guffaws.
Kid, Liz, Patty and Tsubaki waited patiently for him to finish. Maka and Soul approached the group cautiously.
"H-hey guys," said Maka, greeting them nervously, not quite accustomed to the new voice.
Their friends went silent. Something was definitely off. It was as if something key in the universe had suddenly flipped. Their minds didn't quite register it yet.
"So guys, how'd the mission go? Mine was AWESOME, as usual." Black*Star, of course, spoke up first.
"Yeah," Maka said, kicking the floor in embarrassment. "There was a—a complication."
"C'mon Maka," said Soul in a surprisingly shrill voice. "Just tell them like it is: we screwed up. No, scratch that. We got SCREWED OVER." A mouth of angry jagged teeth twisted into a grimace.
The group stared at Soul.
Soul stood, still frowning. Hair put up as always with that headband, the same yellow and black jacket and red pants. But everything was off: The hair wasn't as spiky, maybe even longer than before, the eyes maybe a bit bigger and rounder, as was the shape of the face was softer. And also, maybe so, but the clothes fit even more loosely, like they barely fit on him. However they quickly realized, on her.
The group then stared at Maka. Maka was wearing plaid knee-length shorts. The hair was cut short, into a page-boy style, and the emerald green eyes were a bit smaller and sharper. Otherwise, not that big of a change.
Apparently they had a failed attempt at getting the witch's soul. Senserai, the rabbit witch had put some strange curse on them, swapping their X and Y chromosomes, which of course changed their genders.
"Maybe forever," Professor Stein had said. "Unless you want me to experiment on you both?" A bit of eagerness crept into the old Meister's voice.
"That's a big, fat 'NO'!" yelled Maka and Soul angrily.
The most ironic thing about it was how much more flat-chested Soul turned out to be than Maka was. She might as well have passed for a kindergartener or something.
And now there was this new development. Kid wasn't sure as to exactly what Soul had said meant.
"You know," she repeated in his ear, wrapping the left arm around Kid's neck, giving him uncomfortable chills. "My Meister."
Kid gulped and tried to look straight ahead. He didn't enjoy being around this new Soul Eater Evans one bit.
